Phonics Power! (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Step into Reading: Phonics) : Liberts, Jennifer, Spaziante, Patrick: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Great for reception kids learning to read - These books are very small and thin, with simple stories, but for kids just learning to read they're very helpful. If your child is into TMNT then this set motivates them quite well. My 4 year old in reception uses these books to practice reading each night, and finds them much more engaging than some of the reading schemes from school, because it has his favourite characters in it. It's set out well so you can see which sound each book focuses on - like one focus on the short A sound, like jam, jab etc.. so those words will all get featured, and one will be the short i sound, others are slightly trickier sounds, and then you get a couple that are mixed. These are more specific phonic based than the normal step into reading books, and as mentioned they are smaller, so don't expect it to be quite the same as the other stand alone books, but it is a good set for kids of about 4-5 who are learning Review: Very good for teaching your child. - My son loves the Turtles and these books really have helped him to learn to read. Also the stories are short so he loves a couple before bed. The books gradually introduce new element and become harder. Each book has about 8 pages. We also brought the Paw Patrol set by the same company.

Great for starting to read
This product has grown on me and I came back to edit the review. Initial impression was that the books are very small and thin. The box is tiny and half of it is filled up by a supporting 'wall'. I felt I had been a bit short sold but my son (5) was very happy with his birthday present as he is in to Ninja Turtles. A few months down the line he is still reading these books and I've come to realise that they are short for a reason, e.g. to deal with a specific sound. I think they are very good and I'm glad I bought them.

Brilliant!!
My daughter is obsessed with TMNT! She struggles with reading, so these were perfect for getting her interested in reading! There are 12 books which increase in difficulty. There are 'key words' at the beginning of the books which are a really helpful focus. Would recommend!

These books weer a little disappointing. While they cover some basic phonics in a subject matter that my son is interested in, each book only has 6 pages and very few words per page. We worked through them very quickly and my son memorised them after reading them only a couple of times.

Excellent purchase!
Bought for my five year old nephew and he absolutely loves them. It's a collection of small booklets each with simple words making up a short story along with TMNT images. My nephew was so excited and immediately got them out to read... And now he takes them everywhere with him!

My four year old loves them
I am so pleased I bought these. I've gone from having a 4 year old who absolutely refused to practice his reading during lock down to having a 4 year old who brings me another book every morning so that he can practice. He enjoys these far more than the books set online by his school, proof that one size does not fit all as he is now making efforts to read the story books we have at home as well, which he was avoiding before. Absolutely recommend these to help build confidence and enjoyment

コレクションとして購入しました。 日本人からするとphonicsというより絵を楽しむ感じです。 綺麗な発音の人が読めばphonicsの学習に役立つかなとは思いますが… 小さな冊子がたくさん入っていてお得です!

Great books - not too many pages, great graphics and easy to read for children who are learning.

The nephew LOVES it and so did I! It's a wonderful gift for a small adult and a big child! Don't break a small adult's heart by not knowing the names of their favourite ninjas so here's a quick summary for the big children= 1 Donatello=Purple eye mask 2. Raphael=Red eye mask 3. Leonardo=Blue eye mask 4. Michelangelo=Orange eye mask 5. Splinter=The ninjutsu rat (you) 6. Shredder=The supervillain (Wolverine cosplayer) 7. Krang=The supervillain who is a brain-like Alien but never call him a Utrom because even he didn't call himself that. Do you get it, parents? No? Use this as a reference guide if your child gives you dirty looks for confusing the turtles because they're named after the four most famous Renaissance artists and Antonio da Corregio wasn't included because he's Teenage mutant ninja Waldo, perhaps... Donatello was Italian and Italians love their Purple Garlic. Raphael starts with an R so that's Red. Leo, like the guy in the Titanic movie... He drowned in the blue sea so that's blue. Michelangelo... Angels like to eat oranges so that's orange. Have a nice day.
