Update - seller responded and replaced defective product
First off, I HIGHLY recommend the use of red light therapy, specifically for cold sores (a.k.a. HSV). This product worked fairly well for about 9 months - although one of the batteries seemed to not hold a full charge - but then the button to operate the light stopped working all together. Therapsy says they have a one year warranty on their red light products. It took a few days, but the seller did finally respond and promptly sent out a replacement device. Given the effectiveness of the product and the price point which is much lower than others out there, I'm recommending with 5 stars.

Above expectation
FYI; make sure to read the instructions before 1st use as I consider this to be a medical device; anyway So I bought this pain relief red light therapy thing for pain relief due to having a lot of inflammation that needs to be address, going to those massage places is not my thing, doctors appointment takes to long, so this is one of my option; ( step back; this red light thing was actually recommended by a friend of mine, thanks to him!!!! ), anyway, it’s really simple to Use; just make sure to fully charge before 1st use, I would say it does relief some of the pain, not all, but some is better than non, it’s more like a pen, is not over heavy yet not really light weight either, so far I have been using it for about 10-15 minutes each session one or twice a day, I could tell my pain has reduce, btw; make sure to press / pick The option that you feel the most comfortable as it took me a few times before I find my batch so to speak, anyway would I be buying this again; I expect this to last but if I have to think so

No Good
All looked ok at first glance BUT then I tried to use it. The minimal microscopic directions are basically useless. It kept turning off after about 2 seconds and would never stay on. There is no way to actually know which light you are using. There is no customer service or telephone to call for questions or problems. Total Waste of time and money. Cheap (unsafe??) crap.

Superior product with many uses
I formerly owned similar SoreLight product's, but they are now discontinued. This new light arrived, and while containing the same wavelengths, it appears just as well made, and with more features. Build quality appears to be excellent; I will order more. The only downside is that instructions are practically non-existent. I find it pretty straight forward, as I was familiar with the SoreLight and with photobiomodulation in general.. Battery installation and assembly/dissembly is easier, and a better design than my previous device. I would definitely recommend. Be aware that the 18650 batteries are rechargeable and commonly available. Of the several red light therapy devices I own, I find this one has the most diverse applications for localized treatments. I definitely recommend this product; very reasonably priced.

Directions arent clear
This is the second red light therapy device I've purchased to get rid of cold sores. The first one worked wonders but recently broke. This one looks like it will do the job and the wavelengths mentioned in the description are what are clinically shown to work in reducing sores. However, there are no specific directions for use for cold sores, just for pain. I have also been unable to locate a way to reach out to customer service for guidance. Ill likely try out some different options of usage to figure it out on my own. If it works or if someone from therapsky reaches out with instructions I'll raise my rating. Red light therapy for cold sores absolutely does work.

Just buy it!
I’m only writing a review now as I had only had to use this 5 months ago for the first time after I had a bad cold sore and I bought this when I was already on day 3ish. It helped dry it out and definitely cut the healing time in half. Fast forward to 5 months later and I felt a cold sore coming on, desperate not to break out with one or more I started using this the day I felt the tingle and the next morning it hadn’t blistered. I kept using it for the next few days and the cold sore never blistered or become really visible at all! If you are looking for something that will stop your cold sore this is it! I wish I had found it sooner

Such a game-changer for cold sores
This has been a lifesaver. I've struggled with cold sore outbreaks for years and have tried every product under the sun. If you've ever dealt with cold sores you know how debilitating they can be, from the pain, to the ugly blemish on your lips, they are probably the quickest way to ruin a day, week, month. I use this product at the first sense of a tingle and it will usually stop the cold sore in it's tracks. If I can't get to the light asap and the sore has had time to grow then it will usually clear up after 2-3 days (instead of 1-2 weeks) with use of the light. The price point of this product is much better than it's $300.00 counterparts and I feel that it is just as effective. Here's my general method. I do 3 rounds of light therapy, one session on red, one on red flashing, and one with the infrared light (it looks like nothing on the light but has one tiny red dot). I do this 4-5 times a day; morning, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, then before bed. I've also found that using some of the more natural cold sore products seem to work better than the chemical based ones. My favorites have been Urban ReLeaf Lemon Balm (HIGHLY recommend) and natural L-lysine lip cream. Good luck!
