Colours to dye for!
Great colour, and goes a long way. I used it to restore one of my wife's favourite dresses and the result was that it looked brand new! Simple to use and gives a good depth of colour. (Be sure to follow the instructions!)

Great dye
I got bleach on my trousers so brought this to get rid of that horrible orange mark and it's great. It's so effective I have done all my faded blacks in one go and every one of them looks brand new so has great coverage on all my clothes restoring them to new and I thought that it would have dyed other colours on my clothes i.e white stripes or the emblems and it didn't which is great it's so easy to use I placed all my clothes into a bucket with the dye some water and salt left for a while longer than the instructions say to garentee the best results and then washed and after five or more washes the clothes are still looking new so as for washability it's great and long lasting and all in a small little pouch cant go wrong with this dye it's great and they have all colours and easy to use instructions. Definelty worth more than 5 stars.

See before and after pictures, used rit fixative too....
Did blacken my faded black jeans, I followed instructions and was expecting it to have uniform black colour all over, there are odd areas which seems less black than others when you look closely. It will do the job, even though i used extra fixative, its hard to stop the colour running with the powder version, rinsed it so many times, colour would still run. I'll have to only wash it with black garments for the next few washes.See before (sideways) and after (vertical) pictures

It’s ok… just ok.
I wanted to dye my white blouse navy blue as blue suits me better than a harsh white. The results were a pale baby blue not navy blue.Still looks nice but not the colour I wanted. Good price though and sort of did the job.

Experiments in dying
I wanted some linen trousers for summer and was only finding linen blends with man made fibres, which defeats the purpose of buying linen to keep you cool! Eventually I did find some white linen only trousers with an open tropical pattern on and decided to buy multiple pairs and dye them. I opted for fresh orange, ocean blue and smoke grey. I followed the instruction re weighing fabric and found I had enough capacity to dye a cotton vest to match each pair also. The results may help others on making a decision, so here goes. The stitching did not change colour on any of the garments, but I think that is because most garments are sewn with polyester thread as it is strong, the dye works best on natural fibres. The linen fabric took the dye more strongly than the cotton which surprised me, thought this actually looks quite nice as an outfit as it looks more tonal. The grey covered the print most effectively and the blue enhanced the green on the tropical print, with a pleasing effect.Overall the colours are lovely and I was pleased with the outcome, the orange is a little brighter than I expected, but lovely on a sunny day (looks a bit men at work when cloudy!)I would recommend stirring/agitating for the full 15 minutes, as per the instructions as I did notice a difference in colour saturation as the time went on during this part of the process.I am moving on to experimenting dying coloured item next so will update this review with those results.

SUPER PATCHY 👎🏽
I’ve used Dylon Machine pods with great success in the past. This is the first time I’ve used Dylon hand dye. I used the hand dye because I only had one small item, light in weight and in colour, so it seemed a waste to get a machine pod for such a small item. It was a fail, despite following the instructions exactly.I had tried to dye an XS shirt that was 100% Linen and weighed less than 200g. It was a really evenly light mauve colour originally. So I thought Brown would be a sensible choice to colour it.It was easy enough to do, the instructions are clear. The colour is exactly as shown and really intense, which I am happy with. I really like the colour It’s exactly the colour I had hoped that it would be and the only reason I gave one star, for the colour and for the ease of dying. But ultimately the result came out so patchy and my shirt is currently looking like a tie dye 50 shades of brown. It looks like it’s got faded sweat stains all over it. I’ve tried to capture in a photo, but you can’t quite see the many different shades of brown in the light. It also has black spots all over the place too, despite dissolving the dye powder first in warm water. I wasn’t expecting an amazing result, but what I have got is disappointing. Especially give the item is 100% linen.I do like that the buttons and inside branding tag and machine wash logo stayed pure white.I will now need to buy another packet and dye the shirt again, which is disappointing because I was using the hand dye because I was trying to avoid being excessive for such a small job. I wanted to avoid waste. I would recommend that if you are going to try these sachets, buy two incase anything goes wrong. But, I think for me, I’ll probably stick to the machine pods and wouldn’t buy this again nor would I recommend this product.
