Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle (Nintendo DS)

This game was a real delight to receive and I was pleasantly surprised how much depth and story had gone into the Nintendo ds game. There are lots of clues to find on the screen, however finding the clues is quite tricky and the "hints" on the screen do help a lot, as they can be missed being on such a small screen. I kept the hints on most of the time, and the puzzles through out the screen are sometimes a little on the basic side. The actual game arrived in German packaging and the booklet was also written in German!! I managed to play the game though, and worked out what buttons on my Nintendo to use. ( I i did contemplate sending it back, but once I got into each chapter I started to enjoy it) I have found finding some of the clues hard to find, and you have to combine some items to get to the next step, but it is very absorbing if you like these sort of find and seek with a story line to keep you amused!. I haven't yet finished the game but I am on chapter 7 or 8 and there is always something new and different in each chapter. I would recommend this game to older children maybe 8 or 9 upwards at least, they could get bored and frustrated with such a lot of detail and talk sub text on the screen which happens when characters talk to each other on the small screen.Over all a game I would play many times over, and try not to use the hints so much each time around!!Very Absorbing and lots to find on the screen.

Based on other reviews I nearly didn't buy this, but now I'm glad I did. I am finding it really entertaining. Yes, it is frustrating in places and most of the game I have played with the "sparkle star" hints on, without which I feel it would have been pretty difficult. Its quite a typical game where you put items that Captain Morgane has collected together to progress the game, not always obvious and you do have to give it a bit of thought. Some of the conversations the main character has with others have to be in exactly the right order or you can't progress - I found that out after about half an hour going back and forth constantly and trying obscure combinations - bit frustrating but got there eventually. The scenes are nice and varied and the music changes from scene to scene but I would agree that the moving characters aren't brilliant, but then it is a small screen with lots of details to fit in. Its given me about 11 hours gameplay at the moment and I am nowhere near finishing. I would recommend it if you like these sort of games for sure.

I was initially put off buying this game, as the first lot of reviews that came out didn't make it sound that great; It is actually really good. I agree with other people that it is hard to spot some of the items on the small screen and I did have to have the hints option on(A small star sparkles to show that there is a person you can talk to or an object to pick up or use); without it I think it would have been really difficult to play the game. The first chapter seems a little on the childish side, but once you get past that (it's more like a tutorial) then the game gets good! Would definitely recommend.

German not English!!!

Enjoyable to play and quite interesting. Good graphics and story. Characters are interesting and the challenges are fun, though at the moment i'm stuck on a roulette game, which is confusing. Reccommended.
