Why didn't I buy one sooner! No More Lumps!
Peel, Chop, Boil, Strain, Rice (mix in butter/milk/cream/cheese etc.)... EAT! This thing is amazing!! I've been looking at Potato Ricers for years and decided to buy the OXO brand as already own some of their items and they are usually very good quality! And I've not been disappointed with this item!! Yes it takes a little time to do multiple spoon's of potatoes and ricing them in turn back in to a bowl/pan, but it's well worth the extra time for the super smooth result you get and not a lump in sight! Would recommend to anyone who likes super smooth mash! I thought they would be cold by the time you've done them but they are not! It's not a small item so probably won't fit in your knife and fork drawer but ours sits by the pans in the drawer below no problem. Been used so many times over so many months and it's still in 'like new' condition, fairly easy to wash and dry and super easy to use! 10*'s (not 5!)

Useful and quick to use
The potato ricer makes very quick work of mashing potatoes. First, I don't peel the potatoes, just scrub and cut out any damaged bits. Steam or boil in chunks until soft, put two or three chunks at a time, through the ricer. The skin separates cleanly and can be lifted away. The squeezed potato is very light and fluffy, so I haven't added milk or margarine, saving on calories. I used riced potato in some favourite cake recipes, very good, no lumps. Sometimes soft potato squeezes over the top of the ricer. That is easy to scoop up. Washing up is quick , just clean off the ricer first with a small spatula, remove any potato skins, then wash in hot soapy water with a soft brush. Air dry . I hope to use the ricer to puree tomatoes and other summer vegetables.

Best on the market!
This has to be the best ricer ever. If your Northern then MASH is the centre of your universe. It makes fantastic mash with little effort: lump free and beautifully smooth. OK it doesn't jave interchangeable plates of different sizes...but thats a plus: no bits to lose. I've used many ricers at home and in my professional kitchen. It's sturdy and durable with a handle that doesn't cause discomfort while using like less expensive supermarket models. I currently use this in food production in a care setting to help produce texture modified foods. In a home setting this would be ideal for producing baby's first home produced meals. Simply blend meats in gravy, vegetables etc and then process through the ricer. Any stringy, fibrous elements remain in the ricer such as husks. Leaving a smooth paste or puree.

No more gluey potatoes!
Well I did buy this as a joke present for my Husband but it's worked out brilliantly. My Husband is in charge of mashing the spuds if we ever have a meal with mashed potatoes as he can do it twice as quickly as me and frankly I can't be bothered with it. The poor man does tend to get carried away however which results in potatoes with a gluey, wallpaper paste consistency which is not my idea of how nice mashed potatoes should be. After opening on Christmas day and having a good chuckle he was promptly set to work with it to do the mash for Christmas Day Lunch. Well I can honestly say we're both very impressed. He says it's very easy to use and requires very little pressure to get the potatoes to pass through. The riced potatoes that fell into the bowl underneath were gloriously lump free and fluffy and only needed a brief stir through with a bit of butter and seasoning to come out absolutely perfect. The lack of going over and over them to get rid of lumps has eliminated the gluey texture completely. We've used this a fair few times now and the build quality seems to be good, the rubber on the handles has not flaked or perished in any way and I would recommend this wholeheartedly.

Game changer
Absolutely amazing thing thats revolutionary. After years of struggling with horrible cheap potato mashers, forks etc and having lumps I decided to go for a potato ricer to help my sore tired arms and hands. I did a little research and found this one. Its very pricey but I think It will last for a long time due to it being good quality. It takes all the work out and does the Job in seconds, Zero lumps perfect for me. There is just a slight sensory issue that won't make sense to most and I don't know if anyone else will have this problem but I don't like the noise when you pull up the lever to get the potato's in, it's like a scrapy metal sound that hurts my teeth. Its worth it though. If you are thinking about buying this just do it, your life will be easier

Gave it to my husband as a gift. He asked for it because we just had a normal masher tool. This has made our mashed potato much better with a nice consistent texture.

Depois de diversos amassado res de batata, este de estrutura de inox bem espesso, o fechamento não desalinha fácil utilização, valor é alto mas vale cada centavo.

I bought this OXO potato ricer specifically to make gnocchi, and it works beautifully. The texture is super consistent and smooth, which makes for light, pillowy dough every time. It's much better than mashing by hand or using a mixer. The handle is really comfortable, even when I’m pressing a lot of potatoes. It feels sturdy and easy to use, even with hot ingredients. The only minor issue is that sometimes bits of potato get stuck around the top rim and need to be scooped out and pressed again. It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s worth mentioning. That said, for the price, this is a great value. It’s become one of my go-to tools in the kitchen and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who likes making gnocchi, mashed potatoes, or even applesauce.
