Does job very well
Simply packed, seal plastic bag in cardboard envelope . Easy to fit. Ink flow seems to be better than with cartridges.

I am converted
I spent ages on the Parker web site trying to find out about pen converters, as from the Amazon partner listings it seems there are several at different price points. In fact there are essentially two models, a basic plastic thing and one - this one - with metal bits, though a gold plated version of the metal-bitted one is also available for those who insist on burning money on never-seen shinyness. The Parker site was no help, as it's been designed by some spiv who confuses graphical gimmickry with information, so had to trawl forums and collector sites to get this fundamental info which should have been in a catalogue.SO - this seemed to be the best bang-for-buck deal and I invoked the credit card...The converter arrived extremely quickly. No packaging apart from jiffy bag which isn't a problem but surprised me. No instructions but took me all of a minute to figure out to twist the end bit, not the apparent ring further down. I didn't want to bust it by cavalierly wrenching it with gusto - always best to spend a minute thinking and a lifetime of owning than to presume, impatiently wrench and then sulk regretfully for countless years with a leaky gizmo...Ok,fitted to an IM, it works nicely. The gentle "twist to unscrew" piston action makes it clean to use, unlike the damn piston yanking direct-pull spurt monsters I was brought up on back in the day of my original Flighter. Infinitely better than cartridges, which are an invention of Ye Devylle, and much better than the gormless rubber bulb in a nutcracker nonsense that's fitted to an 70s Parker of unknown modellage. I will certainly fit more of these to the half dozen cartridge-only Parkers I have kicking around the house. Should come as standard, really.Delighted. Recommended. Maximum stars.

Does the trick!
I recently took up writing with fountain pens. I use the Parker IM Black Gold Trim and I find this method of using a converter much more fun to be honest! As others have explained, I'm sure it will save small amounts on ink cartridge costs. At around £4.03 a bottle ( inc P+P from Amazon ), the ink seems a much better and lasting option. I recommend the Parker Quink Ink (Permanent Black). In terms of mess, I only manage to get a few ink stains on my hands which can be washed out with a good scrub. I use to fill it up directly through the nib but taking the converter out is allot less hassle in terms of cleaning things up with the nib and saves allot of time. It only takes 2-3 minutes to refill.A great piston converter overall, no problems whatsoever. If working it is troubling you, there's plenty of videos on YouTube to help. I'm also quite happy to help so leave me a comment. So, got a fountain pen?Buy this converter!

bubble wrap - the item works very nicely, haven't had a leak yet and managed to ...
Parker Chrome Trim Deluxe ConverterI bought two, just in case. I only used one so far. Use the screw to pump the air out of the converter (by twisting it - works smoothly), attach it to the pen, dip the nib into the ink bottle and then twist the screw the other way around, to fill the converter with ink. I use qink from parker as well, barely had to wipe off excess ink.The converter came in a 6 by 4 inches bubble wrap bag, with a small label (only barcode and name of the item "Parker Chrome Trim Deluxe Converter"). While the packaging of it looked cheap - I mean... bubble wrap - the item works very nicely, haven't had a leak yet and managed to empty the ink three times without getting anything on my fingers. (I only received the item on the 30th of april).Absolutely lovely item. So I just ordered another three for the extra fountain pens I just bought. Please be advised that the review is for the item sold and dispatched by Amazon. Since I just got the last three ones, the link directed me to the item dispatched and sold by K Direct. So I have no idea about how they will dispatch the item and how it will be packaged or even if it's the same quality as the item Amazon shipped to me (both items having the same name).
