I don’t have the original back, but use these as part of my fire starting kit. Both fire starter types in this kit work well, but I find that they work best in conjunction with other stuff (cotton wall and Vaseline for example). Both caught a spark from a fire rod, although you have to either shave the sticks or in wind the tween to make this happen (it also took a few attempts).

Lazy way to replace the items I have been using in the main Spitfire Kit but as they are reliable and produce the results required i.e. a quickly lit fire, it is the route I have taken to keep my hiking/camping kit ready to use. Only four stars as they are slightly expensive.

I have no problems with this item. A bunch of firelighting stuff for my kit. Good price, good service. All good.

Ok but need some good sparks to ignite, cotton wool better for starting but then they burn quite well.

Great peace of kit to top up my fire kit from polymath products, plenty of fire to be made with ease with these , supplied and made in the UK great product.
