Impressive Product. Genius in it's Design. I Wanted to Buy Again.
Impressive Product. Genius in it's Design. I Wanted to Buy Again. Each ball was sealed in its own wrapping, once I opened the outer box packaging.Single separate moulding for each ice ball makes storing in the freezer simplistic and hassle free. You can store around other freezer items without taking up all the room.Careful amounts of water poured in before you reach the filled top, and not leaving in the freezer for too long, will ensure your finished Ice Ball doesn't resemble the upper part of female anatomy and will look smooth and rounder.Easy to remove the moulding with your finished Ice Ball. I highly recommend this product.

There appear to be a couple of versions of these. I have the set with four separate (probably) silicone half-spheres.They work pretty wonderfully, after a few goes to get the amount they need to be under-filled. Since as water freezes it expands, you need it to be a bit less than fully filled when it went in the fridge. It's not a catastrophe if you fully fill it, since it tends to separate in the middle, rather than leak everywhere.Mainly I've been making ice balls from orange juice, which don't dilute orange juice as they melt.At some stage I plan to play about by letting them part freeze, carefully pierce the top and drain it and fill the core. Possible an orange juice shell with pieces of raspberry and cranberry juice in the core.Anyhow, it's a fun thing.

I want bigger balls!
This is a nicely engineered item and made from quality materials. You just fill the base, pop on the top, push down and pop in the freezer. I found I did need a lilttle 'ice mould acrobatics' to tip away the excess, though I expect you don't have to if you weren't fussed about the top water.A few hours later and bingo! You have big ice balls! For me though, they aren't quite big enough. I had a single mould free with a popular brand of bourbon, which was about a centimetre bigger and I sort of expected the same size in this case - I just didn't check from the details given on the amazon page. If I had, I would still probably have got it TBH.You get some rough edges (certainly nothing like the picture) but these soon melt away. That aside though, the product and results are good, and it's very easy to use. It works best with spirits, I think on balance I'm happier with multiple cubes in tall/longer drinks.

Great Product
I comment as a novice as have only made 2 ice balls so far. I read lots of reviews first which were helpful and purchased the individual moulds. So, based on my limited experience: 1. Using filtered water definitely helped make the ice a little clearer than using tap water but it was still opaque (which was fine). 2. On my first attempt I filled the mould to the top with water which, when frozen protruded into a little tail as the water expanded, on the 2nd attempt I didn't fill completely and just had a tiny lump. 3. It is extremely easy to pour the water into the mould, a funnel is not necessary. 4. It is VERY easy to get the ice out of the mould. 5. The ice balls last much longer than normal ice cubes.Overall. although still early days, I think it is a great product and a very easy to use. Thank you !

Good but could be better
The ice globes do look great! However its a bit fumbly when filling up, you have to make sure to keep the top component pressed down with one hand while filling up with the other hand else it will overflow and the ice wont look as round as they should.

Highly recommend
Excellent product - makes beautiful spherical ice balls that melt much slower than cubes. The customer service from this company is brilliant, they sent updates and tips with ideas on how to use the ice ball maker for other interesting things like lollies, etc. Once you get the hang of using it, it's really easy and the product is well made with quality materials.

Just bought two more!
Today we used these for the first time. The generous and perfect balls of ice they produced are aesthetically pleasing, and fun too. We chose individual ones because we can tuck them here and there in the freezer. The molds seem strong and are of a rubbery material that is pleasant to handle. We like them so much that we've just bought two more.

Ice Sphere for the Home Mixologist
The product allows you to make some fun ice spheres, but takes some doing to get a smooth finished product. If you're looking for the smooth shiny finished product pictured on the site, it seems a stretch and I've not achieved that look yet. But if you're goal is to jazz up your home mixology to impress your guests, this products offers an economic way to do it. While the spheres are probably a little smaller than I'd like, I do appreciate that you can produce four at a time, which has been worth the trade-off for me. Have been using it for a little over a month and after a few initial runs, have been able to consistently make some presentable ice balls.

Works like a charm
Especially if you ignore the instructions. LOL I've been using other ice ball trays and have had problems with both of them. The full silicone with 6 small balls leaks like a sieve and I've repurposed a storage box (shoebox sized) to keep the leaked water from freezing it to the bottom of the freezer. That one takes a second fill to make full ice balls, which is annoying. The 4 large balls tray is only half silicone, with a hard plastic base. It doesn't leak, but getting the top loose and the balls out is extremely difficult at times, since the silicone is flush with the rim on the base. I've had to hold it in front of my heater for minutes to loosen it enough to pry open. So I have the hard surface (storage box) to place them in and I just assemble them, place them in the box, and fill them directly from the sink. Any runoff is caught by the deep sides and they are mercifully easy to pop open. Haven't had to refill for a 2nd run at all, and I'm very pleased with their performance.

Great product
These are intended for fun ice making spheres. Not crystal clear spheres. Helpful hint for the people that say it makes the ice balls taste weird, it’s due to the freezer environment. If you have meats or veggies you freeze, the “odour” will be absorbed into the water as it freezes. Quick cleaning after each use with hot water and soap, will help. I like using them to make frozen puréed smoothie balls. I drop one into whatever drink I’m having, to add an extra element of flavour to. Oh ya while keeping my drink cold. Lol

Great Product!
These molds are great and easy to use. The silicone is very nice and the hole at the top making filling very easy. It is recommended to wash prior to use and if you did, there is no plastic taste. I had no problems removing the molds and maintaining the sphere shape. Couldn't be happier with my purchase, they were a gift and he loves them.
