Great little guitar
Great little guitar, gives my hands a rest after all the stretching on full sized guitar put some strain on

Very good product in its category and level
Yamaha is a brand that manufactures good quality things, and this guitar is one of them, I am a professional guitarist, although this guitar is not the top of the range, instead it is a small guitar for beginners, it has a good sound, it is comfortable, keeps the pitch well, the notes along the fretboard stay in tune, including the high notes. In my case unfortunately the guitar arrived dented, apparently the carrier was not careful enough, and the original guitar box does not protect well, for this incident the seller offered me the option of a good discount or the possibility of returning the item.

Perfect educational guitar
I purchased the Yamaha CS40II for my 9-year-old to learn on and am totally satisfied. It's a well-made, lightweight 3/4 size guitar, making it perfect for my son who carries it on his back during the school run. Also, it's quite low action, so really easy for a beginner to play. I disagree with some of the reviews on here; this guitar DOES stay in tune REALLY WELL but it takes 2 or 3 weeks to stabilise. After that, it's brilliant, with only slight tuning needed as you would expect with any guitar. Definitely recommended by me.

Like it
sold my guitalle to step up to this as I didn't want a full sized Guitar and couldn't play the Guitalle lower down the neck due to big fingers I get on well with this with only occasional string buzzing - so i Have to be extremely accurate with my finger positioning - getting better at this the more I practice love the sound and finding it easier to play than when I had a full sized Classical but that is just me and the lazy fingers I have because I find it easier I tend to practice more than I did before so Obviously Im progressing better (not everybody in the family would agree) I considered cheaper 3/4 sized guitars but I can say I am glad I paid the extra and when with this, it looks nice and sounds good

Cheap & cheerful
On the plus side, this is a relatively inexpensive guitar and a good start for young beginners aged between 9 and 12. It seems reasonably well constructed and is aesthetically pleasing. No obvious Yamaha branding on the exterior, although there is a branded sticker below the soundhole. The sound overall is pleasant and the action is such as to not make it too difficult for a young player with small hands. On the negative side there are no position markers, bar one on the top side above the 7th fret but none at all on the fretboard itself. This might prove a hindrance to learning as time goes on, but perhaps not a major deal breaker. Another slight letdown is the fact there is no strap button on the base, or heel, of the guitar. While the absence of a strap button is common for many classical guitars it would have been prudent to provide one, at least on the base, even if one is generally seated when playing such an instrument. On the whole a reasonably priced instrument with a pleasant sound. But as some reviewers point out, you get what you pay for.

Superb quality for the price
I have small paws for an adult male. I found some chords on a full-sized guitar really painful. So why struggle? This 3/4 size is just the ticket for me, and the finish on the instrument is superb. I am no stranger to Yamaha musical instruments and am continually impressed with their attention to detail. If you are looking for a quality instrument for a young adult, or an adult with small hands, then I highly recommend this guitar. Well done Yamaha.

good product, but not for me
well made, sounds good, but old age, fat fingers, and arthritis prevented me from using it
