These little things are an excellent addition to any tarp set up. I use these on all my tarps (excluding my DD Hammocks camping tarp, I'll explain later). I have a fairly large (3.4 x 5.4 meter) cheap tarp which I used over my garden shed with a leaking roof. I have lost many tarps in high winds due to the cord or eyelets breaking. This is where these little things come in handy.The idea of these is to act like a shock absorber. When the wind gusts, the strain on the tie down and tarps is reduced as the bungee is able to expand and contract as needed. It reduces the chances of the tie down cords snapping under the added strain.I originally purchased these for use with my DD Hammock Tarp which I use on a regular basis in all sorts of weather. I wanted something to reduce the stain on the tarp during windy conditions as these tarps are expensive and didn't want to damage it. But after recieving them they were heavier than expected and no good for me as weight is an issue when hiking. I swapped them out for some lighter shock cord which works in the same way. I won't take a star away for this as they don't claim to be light weight and I have put them to good use else where.Overall I am very happy with them so far and don't expect to have any issues with them. They will be a great addition to any tarp set up.

I purchased these to place in my trekking rucksack so as to use when and where required, and have proved good to have to hand when securing the likes of my tent tarp, bed roll etc., or anything you want to tension for that matter, and I have to say I am very pleased with my investment - meagre as it was, and would happily buy again.
