How To Make Your Own Soap: … in traditional bars, liquid or cream : Hornsey, Sally: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A "Must Have" for any soap maker experienced or newbie! - Bought after reading all the reviews on it. I had a quick read through it when it arrived and the amount of information in this book is astounding. A complete run down of materials and equipment needed, safety guidelines, tips and tricks and much, much more. The book is split into clearly defined sections for solid, liquid and cream soap, it even includes a small section on using ready made melt and pour bases. There are beautiful photos throughout the book to both demonstrate and inspire the reader and it's all done in an easy to understand way. I originally bought this for just the liquid soaping method as I'd seen many tutorials for it and still struggled to understand the methodology behind it. Having read this, not only do I understand it but it's given me ideas that break the normal rules of soaping when making solid bars of soap. If you're enjoying making either hot or cold process soap and want something more in depth, I can highly recommend this book. In fact, if you want to start making your own soap, buy this book, it explains everything in easy to read, simple to understand terminology whilst being involved enough to keep you interested and intrigued. Review: How To Make Your Own Soap: … in traditional bars, liquid or cream - Great value for money, such a lovely and well presented book, easy to read and lots of illustrations, packed with lots of information on how to make soaps and creams. A great book to have in any household, it was better than I expected if I am honest. All round service excellent. I will also recommend to others.

Absolutely great book for any beginner on soap making, I wasn’t expecting much for such a low price but I really wasn’t disappointed. Very informative but not hard to understand, lots of great recipes for soap making.

This is a must for any beginner or experienced soap maker
This arrived quickly and neatly packaged. I LOVE IT. Very neat, well organised book which has inspired me to finally start making my own soaps. It is such a relief to find a no-jargon non-American soap book. Nothing wrong with American soap books of course, it is just different terminology and availability of ingredients. The recipes provided are a good range of simple and more technical, with each step being clearly laid out. Using this book, I have already dreamt up twenty or so unique recipes of my own - something I definitely did not have the confidence to do prior to reading this. This is a must for any beginner or experienced soap maker. Also, nice shout out to Jake Bugg in the book which was unexpected but sweet. I hope he knows about it!

Home crafting
I've been wanting to experiment with making soaps for a while now but I've hesitated over using the dangerous products. But this book has given me confidence to try. It explains the basics very well, and includes a lot of recipes, while also listing the properties of various components so that you can create your own variations. There are instructions not just for bars of soap but also liquids and creams. I'm looking forward to playing with the different options. The author makes a point in the introduction of saying the recipes are all small-scale so that the beginner doesn't get overwhelmed with too many soaps at one time; however she doesn't actually say how many bars the recipes will make. It would be helpful to know what to expect, but other than that, I think this is a great book for getting started.

Very good and informative book
Very good and informative book. I've made numerous soaps and they have been a success so far! I've used the colouring techniques in this book and the information about what oils to use and how this affects the soap are very accurate and helpful compared to if just looking it up online like I was before. Invaluable for all soap makers
