Nescafe Dolce Gusto Oblo Coffee Machine by Krups - Black

This is the second machine of this model we have bought this year - we became so attached to the first one that it has been travelling with us wherever we go (and very portable it is too) so this second machine is destined to live in our holiday home. I was previously very sceptical about the the idea of a "capsule coffee maker" and had been seriously thinking of getting a "real" coffee machine but the first Krups Oblo was bought for me as a present and once I tried it there was no going back. The machine is compact and stylish on the worktop, very quick and easy to use, has a very short warm up time and a reasonable-sized water reservoir. The coffee is much hotter than from other capsule machines I have tried and produces an excellent crema. We have friends and visitors who love the "instant cappuccino/latte" and chocolate drinks that it produces but I am afraid I'm not keen on anything produced with "synthetic" milk - whether from this machine or any other domestic or commercial machine I have experienced. Where this machine scores for me is in producing a wonderful coffee (in my case cappuccino) from genuine ground coffee that tastes every bit as good (to my palate) as the best coffees I have drunk in cafes and restaurants. I'm not a coffee expert but have drunk thousands of cups of coffee in bars and restaurants across Europe and have probably been disappointed by half of them and enthused over maybe a quarter. To me, the coffee this machine produces ranks easily in that top 25%. To complement this machine I have a hand-held "Aerolatte" milk frother (which I also throughly recommend - and no need to find a machine with a steamer) and between these two devices you can produce an excellent coffee in no time at all. We've had the first machine for several months now and I still really look forward to every cup of coffee I make with it. So glad we bought it - if you are contemplating a capsule coffee machine the Oblo is definitely one that is worth putting on your shortlist, along with the Dolce Gusto system which includes some excellent coffees.

We have been thinking about one of these for a while and when it came up as a good offer here on Amazon we finally bought one (typically about three weeks later the Amazon price dropped even further). Which? magazine gave this and other Dolce Gusto machines good ratings compared to the Tassimo machines which only operate at 3 bar pressure compared to the 15 bar pressure on this Dolce Gusto machine. We have a range of cafetieres, espresso pots and even a traditional cappuccino/espresso machine but most of the time can't be bothered to get them out. In particular, the espresso machine has been a martyr to furring up (we live in a moderately hard water area) and de-scaling the pipes in the machine has been problematic. We didn't think that pod coffee would be as good as from an espresso machine but we were wrong. All the types of coffee we have tried have been great, as have the lattes and chocolate. You can also make iced drinks but I haven't tried that yet. Even better, it is all so quick and easy with no mess. It takes up less room than the old machine but you do need to leave room to pull out the machine as the water tank is on the back. You have to slightly tip it to remove and re-install it and if you fill it to the maximum limit it is awkward to re-fit without spilling any of the water. Note also that the pods can drip when you remove them so just be ready. This isn't an automatic machine so you have to turn off the water but this does have the advantage that you can control the strength of the brew. We are delighted with this machine - I'm thinking of buying another one for my office.

Read up on Dolce Gusto machines before purchasing. A friend has a different make and model. There are manual like this one and automatic versions with more features. They all produce the same great coffee (or hot chocolate etc). No difference there. This one works really well. Holds enough water for two big cups. Very simple to use. Never dripped or leaked at all. Just needs a wipe down every now and then. Looks pretty smart in the kitchen and similar size to a normal jug kettle so doesn't look too big. I would recommend it if you like a decent coffee. I prefer the Starbucks pods but their own are fine. Lots of choices of flavours and availability is good in many supermarkets and online. I got mine on offer for around thirty five quid. At that price it's great. Been a brilliant lockdown indulgence.

Looks just like the picture, lovely machine. The set up was easy, though the instructions are pictures, it was easy to follow. The water tank is at the rear of the machine, you fill it to the max line, put the tank back in place (very easy to slot in and out) Add your coffee pod (see instructions) switch on the machine, put your cup on the base, slide the switch to cold or hot (depending on the drink you have, slide to hot for hot drinks). After a few seconds, your coffee is ready. Enjoy. Temperature of the coffee is just right. A few cons. 1: I do not like the red cord, though the plug is black with a red logo, I am not happy with the cord. (See pictures with this review) 2: I use 240ml latte cups, and it makes the perfect size drink, there is no auto sensor, so watch for overflow. I personally love this machine and so glad I bought it. I cannot wait to try all the flavours of coffee that I can make with it. Enjoy your coffee machine

Ich bin schon seit der ersten Stunde Dolce Gusto Fan und musst mich leider in diesem Jahr von meiner alten Maschine trennen. Die Oblo hat ein schönes Design und ist sehr funktionell, leicht zu reinigen. Bei dieser Maschine kann man auch breite Cappuccino-Taschen einstellen. Einziger kleiner Makel ist der doch sehr kleine Wassertank, der aber für 3 mittelgroße Tassen Kaffee reicht.

Molto bella, ideale se si ha larghezza e poca profondità. Semplice da usare e facile da pulire. Ci vanno anche bicchieri molto alti.

Excellent produit avec un large choix de capsules café thé et chocolat chaud où froid. Facile d emploi et d entretien. Je recommande ce produit.

Etant adepte de la marque Senseo, j'ai longuement hésité avant d'acquérir une Dolce Gusto, c'est une amie qui m'a convaincue en me faisant gouter le café au lait Dolce Gusto, très pratique, il n'y a rien à ajouter si ce n'est peut-être du sucre, je précise que je ne raffole pas des cafés très corsés mais pour les amateurs, il y a du choix : thés, cafés natures, corsés, allongés, latte, froids et même chocolats chauds... Cette machine est très facile d'utilisation, le dosage n'est pas automatique et ce n'est en aucun cas un handicap, bien au contraire on peut doser le volume d'eau selon nos goûts. La machine n'est ni trop grande ni trop petite, la capacité du réservoir me permet de faire 2 grandes tasses de style Mug. Je recommande les thés Marrakech, Noir au citron et miel, les cafés Mocha, Latte Macchiato Caramel et le chocolat chaud Chococino mais je n'ai pas encore tout gouté. Très bon rapport qualité prix, je ne regrette absolument pas mon Senseo.
