Fine in the field, if you have the need
It became apparent very soon that this is a really good, relatively light weight sharpening stone to take on a trip where you might have to repair an edge in the field. There are much better (larger, heavier) options for use at home. The diamond side is best for a very quick grind, and you could leave it at that and get by, if all you want to do is get those tent pegs whittled. It's a bit coarse but functional. The ceramic side produces a much finer polish so if you have the time on your hike, and you can find a solid support for this small stone, make a brew and have at it, but your tea might go cold if you're restoring a full blade bevel and edge. The leather wallet it comes in can be used for stropping and works really well if you have a tiny bit of stropping compound to put on the back. Leaving the stone inside the wallet helps a lot. So much depends on the knife and the circumstances, but in general, it's an excellent bit of kit and great value.

Great liitle sharpening stone
Compact sharpener that does the job. Recommend priming the synthetic sapphire side with some wet and dry first. Took a bit of practice (due to my ham fisted inability to judge the angle of the knife to stone and replicate it on each stroke) but after a couple of days I got the hang of it and then went on a sharpening mission... EDC knives, kitchen knives, long forgotten pen knives in my fishing kit...all became sharp enough to denude my forearms of hair...oh and with a bit of care can use the leather case edging as a leather strop. May not quite match the Japanese whet stones for finish, but then you don't have to sell your Granny to afford it. Happy with this easy carry little sharpener.

No complaints after several months of use.
Excellent service from the vendor, the item arrived on the date given at the checkout. Build quality looks excellent, and I put it to work right away on my 3 Mora knives with Sandi Grinds, and on my main, heavy bush craft knife to see how it faired. Needed to use the Diamond side first on one of my Mora's after using the knife heavily, then using the Ceramic side to finish off. No problems at all, and the end result was excellent. Took a bit of getting used to with the relatively small size of the DC4, but a quick trip to YouTube to see how Ray Mears used the item soon had me sorted. The Leather pouch is a bonus and I have modded it to be able to put a paracord lanyard through a hole I made in the pouch so that I could hang the DC4 around my neck or off my belt. I've seen reviews that have said that the Diamond side separated from the Ceramic side due to the possibility of a bad build / glue used. I have to say that after using the DC4 ( both Diamond and Ceramic sides ) extensively over the past few months, I have not noticed any problems with it at all, and it continues to serve me well when I'm 'Out in the Field'. While the advert states that no lubricant is required to use the DC4, I've added small amounts of water to the Ceramic side every 30 or so strokes along the ceramic with the blade. Dunno if it helps , but it sure hasn't harmed it. Good vendor with good service and an excellent product, therefore 5 stars

Good choice for camping
Ideal for maintaining an edge on your knife while camping. For putting that edge on in the first place you will want to do that at home beforehand with a proper whetstone. It's small and light and comes in a nice leather sheath. The stone itself is good quality. Just be careful when using it. It would be easy to cut yourself due to it's small size.

Compact and very useful when out in the woods
The package arrived in great shape, no defects on the package and the stone is just the right size for your EDC bag or when you’re out in the woods for the weekend…! The fact that it doesn’t need water makes it even better to do your sharpening while outdoors!!

EXCELLENT
At first I was concerned about the small size of the DC4 but it does an excellent job of sharpening even hardened blades. Diamond side is good to regain blade shape but is deceptively abrasive - unless the blade is damaged or blunt don't use this side for a prolonged period. Ceramic side does a great job of sharpening when dry or wet and can get a blade extremely sharp with little effort. Works well with a curved draw or small circular motion. Bonding between diamond side and ceramic side seems good and I haven't noticed any parts where bonding is failing after sharpening many blades with the DC4 in the last few months since purchase. Leather case is a nice bonus and is also well made. This is a great tool to carry when out in the woods to ensure that blades stay razor sharp and it takes up very little space in a bag or pack. While it is expensive compared to many other sharpeners it is compact, does a great job and is extremely well made so I have no hesitation giving it 5 stars. My first DC4 arrived with the ceramic side cracked and although it still worked perfectly a replacement was sent straight out as soon as I sent a picture to the seller. When speaking to the seller on the phone I found them to be very responsive and committed to customer satisfaction - although I told them I was in no rush for a replacement one arrived in the post the very next day! Now that is great service - I'd highly recommend both the DC4 and the seller (Survival School Ltd.)

It's Fällkniven of course it's good.
Superb, little beast, I just managed to sharpen my old burred dented knife back to new, with patience. Now it is razor sharp. The DC4 is great for if you are backpacking/bushcrafting, small, reliable high quality, then again I wouldn't expect anything else from Fällkniven. Still not convinced then just check out the ridiculous amount of Utube vids on this thing, with heaps of different ways to get that fine edge on the bushcrafters best mate. There is one slight hitch , the gold plated side can corrode away with prolonged use, however, if you look after your blade you shouldn't have to rely on it.

Cette pierre est vraiment très bonne pour refaire un tranchant. Il ne sera pas "miroir" mais par contre elle retravaille le tranchant très rapidement. Perfect
