Fun little learning tool
The LeapStart is a handy learning tool for little ones, that is cleverly disguised as a toy. I bought this for my nephew and he loves it. What's nice about it is the ability to add more books to his collection, that get steadily more advanced as he progresses. One thing to note is the process of loading books onto the LeapStart itself. It's a little bit fiddly with the need to connect the device to a PC, where you manage your book library through LeapFrog Connect software. You have to do this for every book you buy for it, and the device can only hold so many books at a time. Just something to keep in mind, especially if you are thinking of gifting it.

Nice learning tool but pen does not always recognise object so a little hit and miss
We purchased this as a gift and is liked by the recipient who is a toddler. They like using the pen and hearing the words therefore is learning. We liked the idea of a pen telling them what things are so it would make a great learning tool. We have not purchased extra books yet as they are pricey so will buy one at a time as there is a good selection available. The books are not the easiest to clip onto the learning pad. This is a little hit & miss because the pen does not always recognise the item when you touch the book which is not good so I may have to contact the manufacturer about this as it is frustrating for the little one. It is a well known brand so this is disappointing.
