Hard AF to get in, but really good quality
Installed from the top exterior. I tried the boiling water thing. That helped, but didn't completely work. Probably should have used a heat gun. I also suggest taping around the area to minimize scratching the paint when the tool you use slips from pressing down. As much force as you need, it will probably happen.

Tried a couple methods that others have posted, but couldn't get the rubber seated all the way, the sides kept sticking out. I ended up removing half the fender liner, taking off the bolt that holds the antenna in place (10mm), removing the antenna assembly, then pushing the rubber piece into place (it went in real easy). Then pushed the antenna back up through the hole in the rubber grommet, bolted the antenna back in place, then re-attached the fender liner. Wasn't too bad, and all you need is a 10mm for everything

Make life easier for yourself...
Let this grommet sit in some boiling or very hot water for a little while prior to installation to make the rubber more compliant; these are an extremely tight fit. I used some silicone dielectric grease where the antenna mast comes through the fender for an added layer of ease. I was able to press the rubber lip into place without taking anything apart. Trust me if you've never installed these before, they are easy to tear, and very tough to install hard/dry, so this is my method of preference. 2012 4Runner.

Good product, but….
This is a great OEM replacement. However, like many have said, it’s a major pain to install. I have plenty of years rebuilding cars in the past so I’m no newby. I tried all the little hacks folks have recommended hoping one would work, and no go. But I did finally get it, and I will share what worked for me in hopes someone smarter than me can take what I did and make it better or easier. No matter how much pressure I applied (and I applied a ton) I couldn’t get it to seat. I even taped a screw driver up and try to work the ornament in place, but instead successfully scratched the paint(😔). I finally decided to snap some push grommets from the fender well and create enough space for my hand to snake up into the fender. I grabbed hold of the antenna and mount and pulled down on it, creating enough space and lack of pressure for the antenna ornament to easily pop into place and seat. I then pushed back up on the antenna and mount, and screwed the antenna in place. I pushed the fender well plastic back into place and maybe sometime down the road when I have more patience I’ll try to get the broken push grommets out and replace them. But all in all it was a pain to figure out, but if I would have just done what I did to start with it, it would have been a quick fix.

Fairly easy to install
Thank you to the person in the comments that recommended the 3/8 deep well socket. Step 1. Get the old ornament out. Mine was not so easy as it came apart in several pieces, but eventually I got it all. Some of it fell down in the hole and that is okay, nothing to worry about. Step 2. Go ahead and clean the residue the old ornament left with a paper towel or soft cloth dipped in soapy water. Step 3. Dip the bottom of the ornament in some soapy water and slip it down over the antenna and push the long edge in the hole. Step 4. Slide the 3/8 deep well socket over the antenna and push down with enough pressure to seat the top edge in the hole. That’s it. Your new ornament is installed.

Perfect fit but a lot of work to install
This fit perfect. I first tried to install with the antenna base still in place but I didn’t have enough room to get the lip to go under the fender. I removed the clips from the inner fender and unbolted the antenna base and moved it out of the way and then the part popped in without a problem. It was a lot of work for such a simple part and other reviews have said they just popped it in place but that wasn’t the case for me.

About 60% installed
Its made of good material but its a real pain to install. Boiling it in water did not work. I don't have the 3/8" socket recommended by a reviewer. I used oil and my brute strength and got 60 % in. Haven't exerted this much herculean effort before and had to leave it to try to push it in another day. Good finger exercise thou.
