Transformers Toys Legacy Evolution Voyager Comic Universe Tarn Toy, 7-inch, Action Figure for Boys and Girls Ages 8 and Up

I just received this figure not too long ago and I’ve got to say, what a spectacular figure this is. In my opinion, Tarn always had one of the most appealing Transformer designs in recent times. And that design manages to translate incredibly well for this figure, though I do have some very mild critiques on it. This figure (as well as all the other voyager figures these past few years) feels a little on the small side, but I’m willing to overlook it. The pose ability of this figure is great but kind of limited. The arms in particular felt just a tad bit underwhelming, as I was expecting more than just a 90 degree bend at the elbow and some more shoulder movement options other than swiveling and a single rotation (maybe something more like Spinister/ Needlenose’s arms would have been nice). I’m not that mad about it though, as I know hasbro toys typically don’t have that kind of thing to begin with (although their more recent figures have added features like feet articulation and such). Also it may just be my copy, but the elbow swivel is a little too loose for my liking and the peg holes aren’t able to hold onto the included weapons that well either, the only exception being the one on his back. Luckily, the rest of the figure feels very good to handle so it could very well be my figure only that has this issue. The transformation feels pretty great too, and the resulting vehicle mode looks stunning as well. Overall, I would say that this figure is very solid, but not necessarily a game changer. If you like Tarn as a character, or even just like his aesthetic, I can guarantee that he will be a fun figure for you to own. As a voyager class figure prices around $30, he is very well worth the price

This is, by any account, one of the best mainline figures ever. This is certainly the best Legacy figure, by far, and I'm a huge fan of what they did for Jhiaxus. It's borderline theft that we can buy it at the Voyager-class price point. Tarn could easily have been made Leader-class by including a simple Nickel minicon, working mini-wheels, a removable mask, and giving him folding wrists or hand-covering kibble. The risk was clearly that the Leader-class price point would keep many fans from picking him up, since he's a comics invention translated late into the Cyberverse cartoon and not a G1 staple. What we therefore get is a dynamic, thoroughly-articulated, well-engineered Leader-size toy at a reasonable price (but I still want Nickel). Like Legacy Jhiaxus, Tarn's limbs don't suffer from huge, obvious gaps (like the back of Blaster's thighs), and they have a massive range of motion, including a180-degree double-knee bend! His shoulders don't look quite perfect when extended out from the torso, but the hinge is a necessity because of his massive tank treads. His hands open, he has rotation at wrists, arms, thighs, and waist, four-direction ankle tilts, and a limited ball joint neck that still lets him look up, slughtly down, and 360 degrees. Perhaps the Leader-class engineering might have given him an ab crunch. Some design elements not in the instructions: he transforms more easily if the head is first turned backwards, and his cannons can peg to more closely resemble his IDW design by using the rear 5mm port and the top 5mm port on his center turret piece. The only criticisms I can offer: 1) Hasbro's quality control is still letting loose joints out of the factory; my Tarn's cannon arm is a little too easy to swivel, and the outer shoulder treads pop off if you don't transform it fairly delicately. 2) No ab crunch; not a dealbreaker by any stretch, but would have been nice in a character who slouches in his command chair and leans close to victims to whisper them to death. 3) The microwheels moulded to the treads ... why? If they were actual wheels, the tank mode could roll, if they weren't added, they wouldn't distract from the tread design in robot mode. Moulded fake mini wheels seems like the worst of both worlds. 4) Those Tarn hands hanging off the back of the tank. A little more engineering would have solved this, but again, the price really can't be beat without losing a lot of what makes the figure so great. Maybe if this sells enough, we could see a Leader-class Tarn (& Nickel) set in a few more years? Or get some other IDW characters who need proper toy representation (Velocitron Nautica doesn't count)? Whether it does or not, Tarn is a $50 figure at a $33 price point, and serious fans should pick one up ASAP!

Amazing figure probably my favorite decepticon in my collection. Articulation is amazing and it’s quite fun to fidget with and has a great level of detail would recommend.

This is an amazing figure. Both robot and tank modes are clean and sleek and thin. NO KIBBLE NO HANGING SHELL! Really enjoy playing with this. The transformation is clean and deceptively simple. Not over-engineered like 3P. True to the spirit of Transformers. I'm so happy with this model. 10/10.

Figure had loose joints and packaging was not solid. Otherwise good figure.

I've always liked Tarns design from the comics, so I was interested in this when it was announced. People got him in hand and were saying great things about him. So I ordered him. $30 well spent. Fun transformation and decent alt modes. Nothing mind bending there. But the robot not only looks great, but the articulation is fantastic. Deep knee bends, legs that can kick high, a joint in the arm that you can use as a butterfly joint. He can cross his arms. I thought it couldnt get any better. It did. Woke up the other morning, BAM! Hes in the kitchen, making me breakfast. He did my taxes for me, cleaned the litterbox, disposed of the neighbors, and cleaned my gutters. Yeah, ok, theres a growing pile of bodies in the basement, but for $30, this is a fantastic deal. All hail the Decepticons.

Tarn is a character that as soon as I saw him in IDW's comics, I wanted. So, when this became available I had to pre-order it. A couple days later than expected, but well worthe the wait. Transformation is great, and he holds together well. My only dislike is that the light-piping doesn't pass light as well as I'd like it to. All around a great bot. He will serve Megatron well.

Product came packed well and undamaged. Figure is incredible has great articulation looks amazing one of my favorite figures I now own.

It's insane to think Hasbro would ever release a figure of Tarn given his role in the stories he comes from. And to think they'd give him his own mould and throw him into the mainline toy series... It's great! Articulation and poseabilty are significantly better than the standard, and the overall detail and paintjob are great too. Overall simply a miracle of a toy that belongs in every collector's shelf. Might not be one for the kids though, 'cause seriously this character is messed up big time.

La figurine est très réussie. Tarn est très bien articulé, très propre en robot et c'est une joie à avoir en main. La transformation se fait simplement, et les deux modes sont une très bonne représentation du personnage, à ceci près qu'il manque un peu d'épaisseur : il peut sembler parfois un peu trop fin. L'un des coudes peut également devenir lâche facilement, c'est un problème présent sur quelques exemplaires.

I am thrilled with my purchase of the Transformers Legacy Evolution Voyager Tarn. This figure is a perfect addition to my collection. The robot mode is fantastic, with impressive detail and paint application that truly brings Tarn to life. The transformation process is smooth, fun, and intuitive, leading to a relaxed tank mode that doesn't disappoint. The articulation on this figure is almost infinite, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. The two cannons that can be combined are a great touch, adding to the playability and display options. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in design; even though the hands show a bit in tank mode, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. The figure's possibility is endless, and it's clear that much thought went into its design. The minor paint chipping on the gold knees is a small price to pay for such an incredible figure. It's held up well even after extensive play, with no breakages or other damage. Tarn is an absolute beast of a figure, and it's clear that Hasbro has outdone itself with this one. The figure is sleek, well-articulated, and the alt mode is just as impressive. I can't recommend this figure enough to any Transformers fans or collectors. It's a rare perfect toy, and I'm so glad I added it to my collection.
