Master Lock Padlock, Magnum Stainless Steel Lock, 2-5/16 in. Wide, 187XD

This is a very high quality lock. Would be difficult to cut off or drill out. It is a disc style lock that opens easily with the provided keys. This fit perfectly as a replacement lock on my Armadillo rear access mailbox.

Seems like a good lock that is well built. Would work better for a door latch. But to use the chain for a bicycle lock but with the nature of the locking mechanism makes it cumbersome to attach to a dangling chain. Other than that it is a well-built box with appears to be very tough and dependable.

This is the second Master Lock Padlock that we have purchased of this type. We use them for a sliding door clasp on a public storage unit. The design prevents easy vandalism as it would be difficult to cut the lock. Several years ago there was vandalism and theft at the storage facility and several units were broken into around ours. You could see evidence of an attempt on our unit but it was left secure. Highly recommend these locks.

I purchased this for an outdoor hasp for my vacation condo and it has worked well. The four rating comes from the challenges I encountered with having to drill out the receiving holes on the hasp, and the keyhole located on the back side of the lock. I'm 6' tall and the hasp was installed at a 3' level on the storage door. It is cumbersome to thread the bolt of the lock through the hole in the hasp, and then turn the key to secure the lock. With that said, it is a solid lock, with a thick bolt, and limited access to the bolt to prevent cutting. I would not hesitate to buy this lock again for security.

I had an old Masterlock cut off my locker at the gym (and thieves took my wallet and car key), so I was looking for something they would be really challenged to cut off. This works for that! The shaft is thicker than my old lock, and the holes in the gym's lockers are a bit small...so it's a very tight fit. But, I can make it work. I can't speak to how weatherproof it is...I'm only using it inside.

My second one. The first one survived 24/7 exposure for thirteen years in area with four seasons. Honestly, it was still solid but one key bent and plastic protective case broke (recall this thing sees all temperatures outside 24/7) so it seemed time to replace.

Cost more than other locks but you get what you pay for! BEST padlock on the market. Basically indestructible!

Its been around a month since I bought the lock for my work locker. They haven't been able to cut it yet so I'd say its a good value for money. I have no clue about weather proofing or anything like that, but so far so good for indoor usage.
