feels like a book
When I bought my HD10 2 years ago, I bought an off brand cover. It worked well enough, but after a couple years, it was a little shabby looking, and I wanted something less bulky.I found this one for a lower price because It had a damaged package. Sure enough, when it arrived, the package had been torn and repaired with tape, but once I opened it, the case itself was in pristine condition, not even a scratch. The case itself is really neat. I am old enough to remember when new hardbound books came with a cloth covered cardboard cover. This case has that same texture. It really feels like holding an old fashioned book. I like that. Another point is the microfiber lining. Previous purchases for other Fire tablets had a light grey lining. This lining quickly became stained from finger dirt and no amount of scrubbing could completely remove the stain. This case has a black lining, on which no staining will become visible. The easel formed by folding back the cover did not impress me. In my opinion, these easels are designed to hold the tablet in a landscape position, which is fine for watching steaming videos, but I bought my tablet for reading books, and prefer portrait position. These easels are awful in that position. Luckily, I bought a small folding desktop easel, so this does not bother me.All in all, this is a very good case. It does what it needs to do, which is to protect the tablet and keep it clean. I like it.

Amazon Kindles are great!
Love This! The Case is great too. I have had 3 Kindles since they came out. I upgraded from the first Kindle reader to Kindle HD 10. Never had any problem with any of them. In fact I have a short story to tell. I live in Florida so you know it's humid and very hot in the summers. I always took my Kindle Fire HD outside to sit in the sun. Well as I laid there basking like a piece of bacon, I noticed that my Kindle was off but was extremely hot. I tried to turn it back on but no go. So I ran into my house and threw it into my freezer, that's right my freezer. I went along my daily routine and about 4-5 hours later, I realize "Oh My God" my Kindle was still in the freezer! I ran and took it out, safe to say it wasn't hot any longer. I was so upset, first I knew it wasn't going to work. Second I was going to have to spend money and buy another one. Third I have to call myself stupid. Hey Stupid nice meeting ya. I took it out, wipe it off let sit for awhile then I slowly pressed the on button. Low and behold It Worked! And it still works. I just brought the Fire 10 and love it. There's a lot of nice features. Amazon Kindles any of them are wonderful. They last and last. I know I use mine everyday, whether it's for music, books, TV, taking pictures. Love it love it!

Great Screen and Functionality
I really like this tablet and the screen size is awesome. You can't beat the Alexa voice option, it gives me a portable version of Echo when I am on the go or around the house, with Wi-Fi of course. I can select my movie on my tab and then send it to my Fire TV. The only negative is the built-in ads that comes with it, it can be annoying at times. However, you can get one without all those ads for a little more money, so no big deal. I was surprised on how much I can do with this tablet, in most cases all you need is an app. All in all, great picture, nice sound, very functional and a great price.I love this thing.

Protective and Sturdy Fire HD 10 Case
I was debating getting a case for the Amazon Fire HD so I decided to use the tablet for a few months to see how I use it before getting one. After throwing the tablet around a lot, I finally got this case to protect it.— THE CASE —The case is a protective thick plastic shell that houses the tablet, with fabric covering the outer shell. The inside lining that covers the screen is a soft velvet like material. The case is substantial in weight and everything will feel heavier, so take that into consideration depending on how you use your tablet. I personally like the plastic corners because I tend to watch things in bed with the corners of my tablet touching the bed. If the corners were fabric it would wear out, but since it's plastic I don't have to worry about that. The magnetic closure keeps the case cover on your screen until you are ready to open it. It will unlock your tablet (if you have the no-ads version) when you flip it open. It's strong enough where it stays attached to the back so it's not flopping around. The magnet takes a slight effort to detach from the back and front.— THE STAND —The "fold" in the back to turn your tablet into a stand (in landscape or portrait mode) works sufficiently. I'm always afraid it will fall flat on the counter and I personally don't use the stand feature.— SUMMARY —If you are debating a case, I suggest getting a "used" like-new version that Amazon Warehouse sometimes has in stock. You save a little bit and makes the cost more reasonable. Recommended.
