These shelf brackets are very solid and make it fairly easy to mount shelves on a wall with no visible support. In other words words, “floating shelves.”For my project I made a double layer of 1/2” plywood with a 1/2” space between the two plywood boards. The rods projecting from these shelf brackets are 1/2” in diameter so it was easy to slide the shelves onto the rods after mounting the brackets to the wall. I bought pre-primed pine boards to finish off the outer edges of the shelves.These brackets are excellent value and work very well.

We LOVE these brackets! W needed the brackets to be strong enough to hold dishes and other kitchen items and they are! A year later and they are solid without any wobble or sagging. The screw in the center of the square bracket is pointed. These are the screws the posts will attach to. They provide an easy template for drilling holes in the shelf. You install the square brackets on the wall 16" apart where the studs are, and then you can line the shelf up and tap it lightly with a hammer to mark the spot on the back of the shelf where you need to drill the holes. Perfect template with no other measuring required. After you mark your holes, install the posts and drill holes in your shelf. We used a dowel jig slightly smaller than they recommended to drill the holes - did not need a drill press. A friend of ours loves them so much she asked if we would put shelves just like it in her kitchen as a Christmas present. So this is our third order. Only complaint is that they sell them in 4 packs only. We needed 6 so we had to order more than we really wanted. Wish they would offer other size packages with a discount for larger packages. Otherwise, these are great!!

I bought these to put up a shelf in my son's room. The biggest point is to take your time to ensure everything lines up well. I don't have a drill press so I used a drill guide to make sure my holes were straight and the correct depth. I used a laser level to ensure my brackets were level. I realize that everyone does not have a laser level, but I think everyone should... they are awesome! HD and Lowes did not have sufficiently thick shelves to hide the hardware so I went to a local lumber yard who easily filled my order. I used a 1.5 inch thick shelf. I took the advice of other reviewers and used a 1/2 inch bit - this worked out great. You may have to re-work some of the routing around the base of the brackets to make the shelf conceal the bases, but that was not too tough. My biggest issue was that I installed an 8 foot shelf and my drywall walls are not perfectly flat! Some printable caulk fixed the issue well enough to remove the gap between the wall and the shelf. This is not a project for a total novice, but, if you take your time and make good measurements, it is not too difficult.

The screw quality is terrible . 5 got damaged by Dewalt screw driver.

I had bought these back in December, well when I received them there were pieces missing. So Amazon said they were sending me a replacement set. When I received them 3out of 4 were missing. I bought new ones that were pure crap. Their customer service had reached out to me and explained a few things I was unaware of. They offered to send me directly a new set of brackets. Guess what? They arrived in perfect condition and they were all there. I chose these because of their design, they are strong and sturdy, and so easy to install. They get all 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. I used this to fit a floating mantelpiece and it worked perfectly. The mantel is securely fixed, no flexing when leaned on. I would use this product again.

The integrity of the bracket seems good. But the holes for mounting them don't work on 16" centers. I should have figured this out being it is 32 inches wide; the ends line up on the stud but the pilot holes wont. I had to drill new holes with drill press. May be worth it if you are willing to do this but I'd go with another bracket
