Fender FE620 Electric Guitar Gig Bag, Black

I am just starting to learn bass and guitar and wanted something to protect my instruments when going back and forth from lessons. I would have loved to get a hard case, but it was out of my budget. Enter the Fender FE20. I admit I was first attached by the Fender name, especially since my Bass is a Fender. I wanted something that I felt confident would fit my Bass. I wasn't expecting much, but was blown away with the thickness of the padding, the neck cradle, and the pockets. Every musician knows that there's a lot of little stuff that you need to carry around, especially your pencil. This bag fit snugly and the pocket design was more than I expected. My first Bass suffered because the bag it came with had no padding whatsoever and I wanted to make sure I didn't go through that again. I would highly recommend getting this bag. I enjoyed this bag so much that when I ordered a different bag for my guitar I was incredibly disappointed and planned to return the bag at my expense and buy another one of these to carry my guitar. I was overjoyed when I discovered that this model also had one sized for an electric guitar. The only disappointments I could find are that this bag fits so snugly that my heavily padded strap fits kinda awkwardly. Also, the backpack straps are nice, but you have to be very careful of the added length above your head, especially when going through doorways. I hope you find this review useful in helping you make a decision if this bag is right for you.

FB620 is a perfect fit for a Japanese Jazz Aerodyne electric bass (all black, no pick guard). Solid value for the price, solid storage and good quality that should last a while. Some flaws but not that bad, see pros/cons below. PROS - Solid construction, quality materials, looks good; nice clearance for oversized tuner keys - lightweight, not heavy at all; sturdy standing upright without guitar - slim profile, especially with the straps zipped away inside their pocket - thick metal zippers and toggles for main openings; small back zippers for smaller pockets - soft black interior with movable velcro thick neck cradle to position just right - inside patches to protect string ends from ripping velour - thick 20mm padding along interior edges; interior rubber slot for bout strap button - exterior rubber bumper guards at both headstock tip and bout bottom for added protection - zipper closure on should strap pockets so dont fall out, hidden away if folded in - hidden open pocket above strap pocket you can use to "lift" bag vertically (maybe) - front pocket is thick, zipper closure, with handing interior pockets for lots of small items - breathable foam exterior padding attached to case back for more comfort while wearing on shoulders - padded ergo shoulder straps, adjustable length with metal carbide closures - thick foam side handle, waterproof vinyl exterior with rivets on either end for strength - small name tag slot/window for traveling - solid seller, came in padded box within 2 days free shipping (said would take two weeks!) - amazing value at $60, don't buy 610 or thinner Fender bags for same price (or more) CONS - overall a bit loose in the front and back; sides are fine; might fit a Precision tighter - interior padding of back and front surfaces are 1/2 as thick (10mm max) as edge foam padding - neck cradle leave gap between headstock and back padding, can feel when back closed - besides shoulder straps no dedicated handles to lift bag when standing upright (front or back) - bag wrinkles (doesn't not fold) while empty standing upright because of thinner front/back padding - maybe a carry-on but not check-in luggage as-is, needs more additional padding for front/back - oversized shipping box and bubble padding overkill, but still nice - if over $100 buy a hardcase or gator gig bag instead Overall, great Fender case for light travel, casual gigs and everyday movement, shoulder straps are nice and comfortable. When guitar in the case, I would fill the gap between headstock with folded terry towels or the bubble wrap from the shipping box just to play it safe. I would also add bubble wrap whole headstock, back surface of body and along the front neck/strings for added safety to shore up thinner padding in those areas, fill in the loose areas better. However, for hardcore gigging or checking-in as luggage on a plane get a hard case or a better quality $$$ gator/mono bag.

Great bag! My daughter out grew her short scale bass guitar and needed a new bag to fit her new full scale precision bass. Fits like a glove, has a couple of nice support features inside to keep the bass in place, and some pockets to store cords or whatever. The bag is durable padded and seems to be made well. She also loves having a fender bag to go with her fender bass guitar.

This bag is awesome! There is a donut-shaped plastic retainer at the heel that you place the strap button into. This helps to position the guitar inside the case at the body end. There is a neck support pad just away from the headstock of most Fender solid-body guitars. Then if your guitar is a long scale instrument, make certain to push the headstock all the way into the top end of the bag. The headstock will be a slightly tight fit, but that is okay since that area of the gigbag is reinforced and thickly padded. The entire bag is thickly padded. Not quite as thick as some of the Reunion Blues gigbags, but still very well padded in all of the right places. The interior is soft and will not scratch your guitar. The exterior fabric is tough and durable as are the zippers and stitching on every part of the bag. It fits my 2020 Fender Player Stratocaster as if the bag was custom made just for this guitar! If you need a gigbag for your Strat or Tele, I highly recommend this one. It is the perfect soft case for grab-n-go gigs or sessions where you don't need the additional protection and bulk of a hard case, and it is the most gigbag per dollar you will find for your Fender Solid Body. I was looking for a safe, study, well-maid gig bag. This gig bag is great! Fits a Fender Telecaster perfectly. No complaints.

This is an awesome case for the money. My old original Fender Strat hard shell case broke off two latches and I was tired of duct taping it closed. I love everything about the case except that the head stock barely fit in the case with the two guitars I used it for (Fender USA Strat and Jackson Soloist). But the head stocks did tuck in there. Just make sure to check tuning when removing as always. The tuning keys might get bumped tucking it in the case and during handling. If you think about it you don't want the guitar flopping around in the case so maybe this is a good thing. It's a beautiful case and if I need another I will buy this one without hesitation.

It's good product for gig

You get what you pay for. First I ordered a cheaper gig bag but sent it back since it felt flimsy and hadn’t a sturdy enough frame. So I payed more than double for this and I still think I made a bargain. The durability and the quality makes me believe this gig bag will be with me over the next couple of decades. Well worth the higher price compared to competitors.

Sturdy case, well padded. It looks tight but it actually fit the Stratocaster well (meaning it won’t be loose within the case). Maybe not the most padded if you’re always on the road but if you’re careful and bring your guitar along once in a while, this case will do great.
