Q: Can i connect this thermocouple to the hobo ux120-014m onset?

Any thermocouple sensor that has a mini jack connector can be used with this logger.

Q: What type of batteries does this logger take and what is the expected life of the batteries? Is there a power cord option for the logger?

This logger uses 2 x AAA batteries. The manufacturer states that battery life is up to one year however that is based on a 1 min sample rate at or near room temperature. We've found that typical battery life with regular use is anywhere in the 6-13 month range. The sample I have here on my desk has been logging once per 30 seconds on a loop going on 8 months and still has two bars on the battery gauge. There is no AC adapter for these loggers and plugging them in via USB won't power the logger.
