This is a great set for a good value!
One of the franchises that Lego has not monopolized happens to be MOTU. The Masters of the Universe/He-Man franchise happens to be a Mattel product and as such so is the Mega Blocks line. While Mega Blocks aren't as precision quality as Lego they do offer alternate approach to design and play. I find the figures to be much more gratifying than Lego figures with much greater articulation. This also lends itself to them losing limbs easily and potentially getting lost. The Snake Mountain set is big, at more than 2500 pieces it rivals the larger Lego builds. It is also very detailed with meticulous elements that are unique to the MOTU characters and settings. The set comes as 4 individual builds that combine into the single playset. When fitted together they can fold into the "mountain" and also unfold to reveal a detailed interior with playable accessories such as a ladder, great hall table and other scene based elements. The exterior of the build is highly detailed with spikes, stairs, grates, arches and a lava wall that add character and plenty of grounds to host adventures. If you can get this set for under 200$ it is a great bargain, it seems to fluctuate a bit from season to season. I find it to have many more details and elements that the Castle Grayskull does not include. One thing to bear in mind is that these are not Legos and the quality is definitely less than the prestigious 99.9% that Lego maintains in its mold quality. That is one reason that you will find this set much less than if Lego did happen to have the MOTU licensing rights.

Love it!!! not as good as Lego, but a great set
such a great set - ton of detail and little nods to the original play set. Got it right next to my Castle Greyskull which is also great

Amazing!
This build was fun, complex and all around worth every penny. Hoping for a Crystal Castle and a Horde Fright Zone to round out the vintage playsets.

Amazing quality - gorgeous detail
We haven't finished building the set yet, but so far, we are having such a great time working with it! My 7-year-old and I work on it together (I help him push in some of the pieces, as it can be a bit difficult for small hands). This set is probably more appropriate for older kids (10+) but if you want a great parent-kid project and you have the time and patience, this is a great project for He-Man enthusiasts! The attention to detail of this set is incredible. Our family is litererally blown away by how cool this is.

Reliving my childhood.
The Mega Construx Masters of the Universe sets are my midlife crisis. I have love all of the sets. The horns on Snake Mountain can be a little frustrating and it is a very involved build, but well worth it. Personally, I prefer the Mega Construx brand over Legos. They are much more imaginative and the figures are amazing.

Missing pieces????
Was super stoked to get this, when it finally did arrive I opened the box and started tackling this behemoth. The product is meant to be built section by section. In the first section, I noticed that 3 pieces were missing. To say I was a little pissed off is an understatement. I decided to put that section down and start building section 2, about halfway through the section 2 pieces were missing. This is in no way Amazon's fault, Mattel needs to do better. Here's the kicker though! I went online to the Mattel site to order the replacement pieces and they are not available?? Seriously? I ended up calling Mattel and they verified that the pieces are available but the whole set needs to be sent back. This is damn crazy. Still debating because my friend has just finished his mountain and waiting to see if maybe he has any spare pieces.

Make sure you're prepared to deal with missing bricks
Looks awesome however, so far it came missing 33 pieces right out of the box and for the instructions, you have to open each bag pages before the instructions actually tell you to otherwise you'll end up going crazy wondering why you don't have the pieces its telling you that you need to complete what's on the page, with that being said I still ended up having to literally use pieces from other lego sets and cheapo dollar tree bricks in different colors to complete the first two sections before moving on to the next instruction book, the only reason i didn't send it all back is because i was already to far in to it to break it back down and box it up to ship it back, Mega's quality control needs to do a better job at checking each piece before the bags are sealed because this is very tedious and time consuming to be able to even get a quarter of the way and over 1000 pieces in to find out your missing stuff and then not be able to find it in any of the included bags, I probably should still get some sort of refund, 33 pieces missing is a lot and I'm still not done with it so we'll see what happens when to comes to finishing it correctly: Update- it was missing 56 bricks all together by the time i was done, but even with all this bricks from 3rd party's, it looks cool in the end
