While this works great on my textured dash (which prevents my suction cup mounts to stick to) for my GPS suction cup mount, I also found it works great for holding the suction cup mount for my handheld shower sprayer in the bath. Many bathtub/shower units have a smooth textured surface that will hold my hand shower suction cup mount for a little while, but they eventually fall off due to the surface not being perfectly flat. I used one of these mounting pads in my shower and the 3M adhesive sticks well so my hand shower mount NEVER falls off anymore.

Product used 3M's VHB adhesive and is really good stuff only when surfaces are properly prepped. It seems that the disc wasn't prepared correctly because after only a day of being on my dash the disc separated from the adhesive causing the phone holder to fall leaving the adhesive stuck on my dash.

The plastic mount on my bean bag GPS mount developed a crack which made it impossible for the suction cup to seal on plastic mount. I have been contemplating how to repair or cover the crack rather that toss it out, as it has been my good friend on the road for 12 years. Then I saw these mounting disks. It was the perfect solution. I ordered the 80mm diameter disk, see picture (with protective film on it still). Works perfect for my application. I think it would be overly ambitious for someone to think that this will adhere to the textured dash materials we have today, and I chose not to risk creating a blemish on my otherwise like new dash. 5 stars for my application. I purchased an oversize pad for me to mount a GPS. Wanted to make sure it had enough surface tension to stay on the dashboard. So I cleaned the dash and allowed it to dry place the pad on. Pressed firmly for about a minute and then left it alone for two days. Unfortunately today the pad stayed on the GPS but the GPS did not stay on the dashboard. And it took a tumble. Pretty disappointed.

I have ordered these twice now. The first order I had was great, held up really nice! The second wasn’t as good, I’m not sure if they changed the manner they manufacture or what. Second set did not hold well — the 3M strip stayed stuck to where I had attached it, but where the 3M strip and the plastic disc were glued together did not stay connected.

These things stick well. Mounted my GPS on one.

I followed the instructions by waiting 24 hours after affixing the two disks before putting my Iottie phone mount on them. The package came with two, and both let go after a day or so. My 2012 Prius dashboard looks to have the same texture as my 2020 Highland dashboard, on which my Iottie mounting disk has never let go. I didn't return the item because for $5 or $6 that this item cost it wasn't worth putting the UPS staff through the effort of boxing, labeling and sending it back.
