The Digital Art Technique Manual for Illustrators & Artists: The Essential Guide to Creating Digital Illustration and Artworks Using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Other Software

I am taking this fall a digital art class at LACC community college after taking photography. While it looks like there is no required book I got this for the class. I got a used copy that looks practically new. The condition was perfect. The book looks really well done and really interesting. I honestly have only looked through it but it looks good. I hope this would be helpful for the class I'm sure I'll learn something from this book it looks good!

I purchased this book to help me learn about digital art and illustration. It has been enormously helpful, especially as relates to the use of Photoshop and layers. In this regard it is very comprehensive. It is easy to read and follow, and the instructions are comprehensible, even for a beginner, like me.The only thing lacking, for my needs, was information about Corel Painter. It seems that many artists also use this program, and some reference to it would have been helpful to me. Having said that, I do understand that that there is only so much material that can be covered in a manageable sized book. Overall, I am very glad that I purchased it, and plan to use it to help in my work frequently.

I am a legitimate working illustrator,but not doing digital work. I wanted a book to bring me up to speed relative to digital.It seems to have been published almost ten years ago,and that won't happen!! Nicely presented and laid out,but so much has happened in that overall period,which of course,isn't covered!!

This book could have been more useful had it address the printing industry and POD. Very little is known about how artist should prepare for POD. With this method of printing books of all kinds it would be nice to know what are some of the submissions standards for artist and illustrators preparing work for the book market. The information from site like Create Space, Spark, Ingram, etc. only gives vague descriptions until you sign up to print a book.

This book is a great start and guide for anyone. It goes over everything you need to know about being a digital artist and ways how to use the tools. I wish my school would have let us use this book instead of the class-rooms in a book. This goes into much more depth about techniques and how to use them in everyday work. I would tell anyone starting out in digital artistry to give this book a read, you will not be disappointed.

I dig this book. I renewed it as many times as possible from my local library until someone else put a hold on it. I finally decided to get my own copy. The book is in great shape and it provides me with random little tutorials and instructions on photoshop techniques.

I read it and found it to to be splendid in the educational progress so I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to get into this computer art-making action! Good luck!!

A really well thought-out book, very informative and full of ideas. A great book for someone who wants to understand digital painting and try out different techniques.

This is a great book. I love all Barrons publishing. It has a lot of different teqniques; although more for Photoshop than Illustrator.

It doesn't any real knowledge of photoshop/illustrator tools. Just a lot of pictures and blabber about design concepts
