Great mag base indicator, used it once to indicate the flywheel to bellhousing on my Jeep and it was very accurate, repeated within .001" every time. Definitely a great build quality and good value for the price. The arm holds strong once locked down and has very little movement.

Overall seems very nice!! I haven’t used it or put the needle in the holder so not sure how that fits! However the needle is super sensitive works very good!

Great setup i didn't know it was the mini version. I wanted a bigger base but this one actually fits in smaller spaces n works just as good.

Decent dial indicator and strong magnetic base. I use this for setting wheel bearing end play. Works perfect for my needs.

Mag base adheres well to drill press table and bench vise (both on flat anvil and rounded side). Dial is easy to read (black face). The support linkage for the dial indicator is robust and easy to adjust; fine screw adjustment at indicator mount makes it easy to position probe perpendicular to the surface. Cross-checked dial indicator against micrometer measurements of 5 drill bits from 1/2" to 1/16" and a .026 feeler gauge; delta was zero. Checked against micrometer measurements of .010 and .006 feeler gauge, dial indicator was + .0005". Bought on sale for $2 more than Harbour Freight vise-grip model. Believe the support linkage makes a difference.

I bought this Magnetic Base / Dial Indicator set for the purpose of doing inspection of machined parts. The magnet is plenty strong as advertised but the stand requires a lot of torque on the locking knob in order to hold the indicator solid. The clamp that is intended to fit the standard dial indicator stem is oversize and requires tightening with pliers and even with that I could not get it tight enough to keep the indicator stationary. The indicator would not stay in place and I had to keep recalibrating it every couple uses. The indicator itself is just an ordinary cheep dial indicator. It worked OK. Overall poor quality and not sufficient for intended purpose.

Minus one star because the case is not a proper fit for the tool. You just end up kinda stuffing it in there. I really like the tool. The magnet is strong, but maybe not 150lbs. Maybe so if you attach it to VERY thick metal. I really like how it adjusts and tightens. I only used it one time now but it was very good.

Ich habe mir diese kompakte Messuhr zugelegt, um auf etwas professionellere Weise kontrollieren zu können, ob Felgen verzogen sind. Bisher habe ich dafür einen Metalllineal auf der Wuchtmaschine benutzt und das Rad von Hand gedreht, während ich die Kante der Felge beobachtet habe – das funktionierte, war aber eher improvisiert. Besonders wenn ich Bremsscheiben prüfen wollte, wurde das Ganze schnell zu einer ziemlichen Bastelei neben dem Auto. Mit diesem Messgerät wollte ich das Ganze vereinfachen. Die Uhr selbst ist präzise und solide verarbeitet. In der Praxis hängt die Brauchbarkeit aber stark davon ab, wie gut man sie aufbauen kann. Die Magnetbasis hält sehr gut auf gebogenen Metallflächen, besonders wenn die Form zur Magnetfläche passt. Auf flachen oder waagerechten Oberflächen lässt die Haftkraft allerdings spürbar nach. Das schränkt die Einsatzmöglichkeiten manchmal etwas ein. Was mir aufgefallen ist: Das Messgerät ließ sich anfangs nur schwer in der Halterung fixieren. Ich habe die Klemme einmal ohne Uhr richtig fest angezogen – dadurch hat sie sich leicht verformt – und danach hielt die Uhr deutlich besser. Optimal ist das sicher nicht, aber es funktioniert. Eine Anleitung liegt leider nicht bei, man muss sich also selbst schlau machen, wie man das Gerät korrekt verwendet und abliest. Interessant finde ich die einzige Stellschraube, die sich in der Mitte des Arms befindet. Sie fixiert beim Anziehen sowohl die Seite mit dem Magneten als auch die mit der Messuhr. Technisch clever gelöst, wenn auch nicht immer ganz praktisch, falls man zwischendurch noch etwas verstellen will. Alles in allem ist das ein nützliches Werkzeug – vorausgesetzt, man bringt etwas Erfahrung oder Geduld mit. Für Einsteiger ist es sicher kein Gerät, das man einfach auspackt und sofort problemlos nutzen kann. Aber wenn man sich ein wenig damit beschäftigt, bekommt man ein solides Hilfsmittel an die Hand. Ein kleiner, gut gemeinter Hinweis zum Schluss: Am besten merkt man sich genau, wie das Gerät in der Verpackung lag, als man es ausgepackt hat – dann passt später auch wieder alles ordentlich ins Kästchen und der Deckel lässt sich problemlos schließen. Ich habe vorsichtshalber ein Foto gemacht, wie alles eingelegt war. Ich würde hier vier von fünf Sternen vergeben. Die Verarbeitung ist gut und das Gerät tut, was es soll – aber man muss sich mit ein paar Eigenheiten arrangieren.

Die Messuhr selbst ist von sehr hoher Genauigkeit und Qualität. Der Magnet ist auch völlig in Ordnung. Allerdings ist die Kugelkopfarretierung des Ständers sehr schlecht zu arretieren und muss immer wieder nachjustiert werden. Für die Messuhr wären es die vollen Sterne, leider ist die Arretierung hier der Schwachpunkt

I do a lot of building and tinkering with 3d printers and have used this indicator to help with assessing the flatness/straightness of various components and making sure everything is tram and aligned. The indicator itself works well, the range is perfect for this application and the plunger moves smoothly without any stickiness or friction. I don't have a suitable way to determine absolute accuracy however it produces results pretty much in line with my calibrated Mitutoyo dial indicator. The magnetic base is handy and the magnetic force is sufficient to hold it in place. The arm offers a good range of adjustment and different positions to suit various uses, however I had issues in getting it sufficiently tight. The piece that attaches to the indicator itself was particularly troublesome and I struggled to get it to hold the indicator sufficiently tightly in place. Overall this is a decent kit, and I liked that it came in a solid case to keep all the bits together. With a bit of fiddling around you can get it to work, it just needs a little attention to making sure the indicator is securely held.

Great quality for the price. As a machinist, this is one of the very useful equipment on my day to day job. Strong mag base, easy set up and accurate reading. Been using this for 3 months now and have no complaints so far.
