Works great F150 to Garmin Echomap
Was intimidating trying to figure out what was needed to get Yamaha engine info to display on a Garmin Echomap UHD 74SV. For info I have a 2017 F150 xb and analog gauges (no command link).Found a post about using the Lowrance cable and it worked perfect. Took about 10 minutes to hook it up and get it working (snaking cable through the Hull is a different story :).This cable direct connects to my 2017 F150 xb then to a nmea backbone starter kit then to the Garmin, to get trim info plug the pink jumper wires together at the engine. I have all the engine info I need displayed on the Echomap and can expand gauges or add other nmea components in the future. One thing I do not have yet is water pressure, supposedly you must add the yamaha sending unit to the engine if not equipped and that is $185.

Works well, needs modification to fit a F60
This cable does exactly what it says. It lets you send your Yamaha data through NMEA2000 to your MFD. I connected with with a Garmin, and the Yamaha engine data appeared right away. You need a NMEA2k network on the boat, so this cable doesn't work without that. One installation note: On my Yamaha F60, the connector is too big to fit through the opening on the engine, and there isn't an alternative path. You either have to cut and splice or de-pin the Yamaha connector, which I did, to route the cable through. A little bit of a pain, but it works.

Just what I needed!
Used this for my Yamaha 90 SHO to my lowrance elite fs 9. Wow, all the info I have on my engine now, should have done this sooner!

Works as intended on Yamaha engine and Furuno MDF
I was pleasantly surprised how easy this worked with a Yamaha F225XB engine and a Furuno GP1971. I first tested it by connecting from the engine to the NMEA network without running the engine. With ignition on the Furuno showed hours. I knew it was working. The hard part was routing the cable through the boat and engine harness. I ended up depinning the yamaha connector to make it easier. I got the cable through to the engine and console. I then repinned the yamaha connector and plugged it in. Worked great.Cheaper and simpler than building a Yamaha gateway to the NMEA2000 network.

Worked for 2008 Yamaha F150 - Feels too pricey.
Makes you wonder if you just buy a drop cable and splice in the wires... feels overpriced for what it does. With that said, was plug and play and networked into my backbone / HDSLive.

Buy THIS as an alternative to Yamaha's CommandLInk system
Bought a '16 pontoon boat (25ft) with a Yamaha F150 outboard. My boat has analog dials on the dash but I wanted to install a SIMRAD GO7 fish finder/gps which can be connected to the motor. THIS interface cable works perfectly and allows me to view all the engine details I want on the SIMRAD (engine hours, sog, engine temp, oil pressure, etc). DO NOT let Yamaha talk you into their CommandLInk system or whatever it's called (way too expensive). All you need is this interface cable connected to a NMEA backbone or starter kit (model 124-69 on amazon found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BBFE98/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_13) then your NMEA backbone can be connected to just about any GPS/fish finder you have.I bought a SIMRAD gps/finder which is way more than I need on a pontoon boat, but it works flawlessly with all of the Lowrance cables.Bonus points for coming with an extra T-connector...can never have enough of those!

Great for seeing engine hours and other info
My older Yamaha F150 didn’t come with an hour gauge so I installed this to see it on my Lowrance HDS9. I can also see RPM, fuel consumption, engine temperature, and more. You will add value by installing this on your boat. To use this you should already have a NMEA 2000 network back bone installed. Also, this 15’ cable was not quite as long as I hoped for my 21’ center console. I reached from the console through the conduit and to the motor, but there isn’t enough wire to bundle with the loop of lines in front of the engine.
