Ordered multiple kits. I found the kit easier and far less time consuming than building gates from only wood, which I have done in the past. Time will tell how they hold up. My gates were 5.5 ft to 4 ft wide and 4ft tall. The issue of boards not fitting on the vertical hinge side I found to be easily mitigated by not using heavily soaked treated lumber and not using source boards longer than 2x4x8. 2x4x10 boards seemed to be slightly wider and wet treated lumber seemed to be swollen wide. However, only the vertical board on the hinge side has this issue. You will need a long drill bit or an extender on your drill to pre-drill holes that are impeded by the crossbars and latch. Some kits had counter sunk holes some did not, a good whack with a rubber hammer closed the gap. I bought a total of 4 kits. The screws are suspect to me, they are fine thread rather than typical exterior fence coarse thread. I used the screws provided and only had screws snap when using provided drill bit to pre-drill rather than my own 1/8 bit as mentioned in instructions, provided bit seemed smaller than an 1/8. I did mount the hinges to the post with typical fence screws rather than screws provided. Looking forward to seeing how the gates hold up.

Excellent! Easy to assemble and very solid. Read the reviews about the poor quality screws that are supplied and used deck screws instead. Worked great. Highly recommend.

I bought this back in November of 2024 and finally go around to installing it this weekend (April 2025).Pros: The finish looks good (time will tell), the screws all went in fine with no stripping, and the hinges glide nicely. All the hardware was in the box, nothing missing.Cons: The reason for the 3-star review is none of the corner brackets were a true 90° angle. Each one was off by a few degrees, so after fastening the 1st – 3rd backets to the studs, the 4th corner had a gap of about an inch. At first, I thought I had measured or cut wrong, but I double-checked, and all the cuts were perfect. I put a speed square on the corners, and then saw the brackets were not square (sorry, I forgot to take a photo). I had to use pipe clamps to wrestle it into a square, which finally worked. It would have gone a lot faster if the brackets were actually square. Not sure if they got bent in shipping, or if it was a manufacturing issue. But, now the gate is done, and seems solid, and looks good.
