Works exactly as advertised. Very substantial and expect it to be long lasting. I have a 10-year Kamado Joe with the old felt lining that eventually disintegrated. Replaced it with this and the seal is so much better. No issue with the lid closing the same. Highly recommend.

Not sure why this doesn’t have more reviews and is so much cheaper than the alternatives. I purchased this to replace the old original gasket that came with my Series I KJ that was about 6 years old. Installation was easy (check YouTube for some videos), but I used a high-hear silicone adhesive to make sure it stayed on tight. Another reviewer noted their unit did not come with the tape to join the ends together, but my order came complete with 2 pieces. Couldn’t be happier with this one!

I prepared the surface by removing all the old felt, debri was vacuumed. Then acetone to clean the surface. Start the installation and it was going well until I am ready to bind the head and tail together. I found put that the sticky connector only sticks on one side. Now I have the connecting tape loose from the kamado. Unfortunately this has no instruction or videos like other gaskets have with great ways to bind both ends. I really hate adding non food grade high temperature silicone next to my food so now I have a non secure area or I have to purchase gasket sealant. Will see if the smoke does not leak there! No I do not recommend this product.

Great and better quality replacement than the old felt type gaskets. I was able to replace only the bottom gasket and it does not leak smoke at all. It’s slightly puffy so when the heavy top lid sits on it, it provides a nice seal.

2025 Edit: Changing this to 2-star. While the product is excellent, it seems the roll I was sent is short. I had replaced the bottom gasket when I bought this. When replacing the top today, it’s about 4-5” short! Hopefully they’ll send me a correct length. If they correct that, I’ll put the rating back. Heavy duty thickness. Does the trick for smoke retention. Adhesive is good, but they should give more of the high heat tape for sealing the ends in case you need to repair again later. If not, they should sell it separate. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Purchased this to replace the original gasket on my 4 yr old Kamado Joe Classic II grill. Composition is the same as the original. Easily forms to take the circular shape of the grill. Ensure you prep the surface properly prior to installation to ensure adhesion. I used a small bead go hi temp silicone gasket adhesive in addition to the self adhesive backing on the gasket material. Would purchase again.
