My reluctance to order yet another straw hat that would surely be some sort of floppy failure (flying off my head and floppily and sloppily hanging over my eyes) was overcome by my desperate need for an utterly enormous black sunhat. (I’m a redhead with skin tan like a sheet of typing paper.) This is the most fabulous hat. Really high-quality. Really huge. Very stylish. And you can control the brim—there’s wire in it, I believe. And it gives great coverage. No rays of sun slipping through to turn your skin dewy like an old lizard handbag! This is greatness, this hat. Highly recommend!

I have a hat like this in natural color that I purchased at a boutique. This one is just as big and well made for less money! It’s a wonderful hat that I enjoy using for gardening & at the pool. The brim is so big you become an umbrella! The only drawback is the wind will catch it like a sail- so I use a long hat pin. Old timey solution that works!
