SPAM callers, beware!
Like everyone else, I get loads of SPAM calls on a daily basis, as much as 10! This is very frustrating and I really wanted to do something about it. So, I went on AMAZON and typed in "call blockers". I came upon this particular device because the reviews were very promising and the price was affordable. When I received my machine, I read the instructions, which were very clear and understandable. I hooked everything up in a few minutes! Honestly, this device is senior friendly, not complicated at all. I have had my machine hooked up for over a week and it has cut down on the calls considerably. As a new call comes in, I can automatically block it. It feels good to have control on unwanted calls!

Peace at last! Mcheeta CID801 Call Blocker
The Mcheeta CT-CID801 Call Blocker can store up to 2,000 numbers in its blacklist. Any incoming calls on the blacklist are silently blocked -- neither the device nor your phone will ring, but Caller ID info will still be forwarded to your phone. Non-blacklisted calls, including caller ID information, will go to your phone/answering machine as usual. I have this device hooked up (in series) to my cordless phone system with multiple handsets, and it works fine. The device is powered by the incoming phone line, and does not require any batteries. Please note that the device displays only the phone number without caller name. I believe that some other Mcheeta models show the caller name, but for me, it's not a big deal. Also, Mcheeta's customer service is very prompt in answering questions posted on Amazon. I am very pleased with this purchase as it fits my needs perfectly.UPDATE: Oct 13, 2017: Peace at last! Have had this blocker for a month now, and I LOVE IT! Once on the blacklist, robocalls and telemarketers are blocked forever. I especially like that Caller ID info is still passed on to my regular phone system so I can see both blocked and valid callers.OPERATION: The only setup required is to plug the incoming phone line into the back of the device, and then use the short phone cable provided to connect the device to the phone.Note: Use the NO CID/BACK button to exit out of any operation.1. Adding Numbers to the Blacklist can be done in one of four ways:a. While the call is active and the number is shown on the device display, press the BLOCK button.b. While the call is active and the caller ID is shown on your phone handset, press * twice.c. Review the incoming call log on the device using the UP and DOWN buttons. Press the BLOCK button to add a displayed number to the blacklist.d. Using the phone handset, press speakerphone, press * twice, enter a phone number, and press #.2. Reviewing New Incoming CallsPress the UP or DOWN button to review the incoming call log. To block a displayed number, press the BLOCK button and that number will be added to the blacklist.3. Deleting New Incoming Call NumbersWhen reviewing incoming call numbers, press the DELETE button twice to delete the displayed number. To delete ALL incoming call numbers, press the DELETE button for 3 seconds.4. Reviewing And Deleting Blacklist NumbersWith telephone in stand-by mode, press the BLOCK button, then use the UP or DOWN buttons to review the blacklist. Numbers are stored in numerical order. To delete a displayed number, press the DELETE button twice.5. Blocking Numbers Without Caller IDFirst press the NO CID/BACK button, then press the DOWN button to toggle the NO CID on or off. Press BACK when done.6. One Ring/No RingPress and hold the NO CID/BACK button for 5 seconds, then press the UP or DOWN buttons to choose 0 or 1 ring. Press BACK when done.7. Brightness AdjustmentPress and hold the DOWN button for 5 seconds. The display shows “lcd" + brightness level. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to choose the brightness between 1 and 4, with 4 being the brightest. When finished, press the BACK button to exit.

It is quite easy to install but mine did not work!
The cost was $60. I figured that would be cheap if I could get the junk calls blocked. I did manage to block two unwanted callers and my own cell phone by mistake. This item simply did not do much of anything that it was supposed to do. The instructions are in English, kind of. The grammar and sentence form was poor, so it was likely translated from another language. Maybe something was lost in the translation. I really did have high hopes but it simply wouldn't work. Also this the second 'call blocker' that I bought. The first from another company. It didn't work any better.

Works, but rather difficult
In spite of the apparent simplicity this blocker is not so easy. I made a test call from my mobile and blocked it. It was a challenge to unblock it! The lack of caller ID on the unit makes it more difficult to know when to hit the Block button if you don't have a caller ID unit or phone nearby.

A few added instructions and things that have helped me.
I just received my CT-CID 801 a wk. ago. The one instruction in the little pamphlet that is incomplete is the instruction of how to add numbers to the black list when they are not an incoming call. You need to push "speaker button" first and THEN follow the rest of instructions. This was an important step for me because I already have about 100 blocked calls on the 2 phone systems in the house and Call Blocker cannot recognize any of those. Blocking a # that is incoming is very easy if you are right at Call Blocker and push the red BLOCK button and hold until it says "save". If you are near a hand set, press ** twice. IF you answered the phone, press * and hold it. You will have more options if you bought the more expensive model. Important to keep your call log emptied out so it is not difficult to block incoming calls that came in when you weren't there. You don't want to look thru 10 calls and try to figure out which ones are ones you would NOT block and which are the ones you want to block. I empty the call log every time I am done blocking any calls. You can always check your hand set CID to make sure you don't BLOCK a # you don't want to block. So keep your hand set CID log emptied out, too. I'm 81 so works best to keep it simple. This model does not have the programmed calls that are most frequent. So far I haven't figured out what it considers "no CID" as all calls are coming thru that are "unknown", a phone # as the ID", and anything else that precedes the Phone # they are calling from. Sometimes the # they are calling from is also the "CID"?? Beats me!! I know I am going to like getting rid of a LOT of these annoying phone calls and especially the ones who call repeatedly. Mia has been very helpful in answering my questions on email. Joanne Donovan Plano, TX 06/01/2018 After reading some other reviews, I have a suggestion that might help some of you re: caller ID. We have AT&T phones and besides the CID option on the hand set, there is a Directory option. It has a limit of 50---but I have it FULL with names and #'s of family, my Drs., friends, and some businesses that I have frequent contact with. Any of their phone calls coming in to our home appear by name and phone # on the hand set and on the TV. Mcheeta does NOT interfere in any way with this. It's also very handy for me as these days, no one knows anyone's phone # and when I want to call anyone in the directory, I just press the key that has the first letter of their name (and you may have to scroll since there are multiple letters on the # keys) and when their name and # comes up I press talk and it calls them. Makes things very convenient. Refer to your owners guide to see if you have this option on your phone. It's a lifesaver. This also makes it much easier to "Block" calls that came in when you weren't home since only the # appears on your Call Blocker but you would have the name AND the # in your hand set CID and could easily filter the #'s you want to block and those you do NOT want to block. If you accidentally block a # you don't want blocked, just press the Block button to bring up your Blocked list, scroll up or down till you find the #, and then press delete button twice and it will be gone from your blocked list. Hope this is helpful to some of you. It's a learning process.

Great product.
This little Call Blocker is easy to install and easy to use. It took awhile for delivery but it was worth it, the amount of unwanted calls have been reduced by 98% and the ones that are still coming through , I can block by pressing the big red button ( that simple). I highly recommend.

Works as advertised
The number of nuisance calls dropped markedly after I connected the unit. Seems good so far and priced right. Could have better instructions included with the product.
