Our dog seems to understand that he can stand on hot asphalt and not have to desperately pull over to a shady spot. I bought these after talking to a woman whose service dog wore shoes. Anyone who has a dog that must walk through a hot parking lot (or on any hot asphalt) should consider some kind of dog shoe, boot, or sock for that purpose. I had never thought much about it, but now I'll put my palm on the asphalt, and if it's uncomfortably hot to me, it's likely too hot for a dog.Original Review (February 2020): We bought these for hot summer pavement, and the video shows our dog on his third day of trying them out. He did the hilarious "high step" at first, but he's already getting used to them. I'm sure they still feel strange to him, but he seems fine wearing them. The fit seems good (he's 48 pounds and we bought a size 6), and deciding on size is the hardest part. If the shoes are too big, the dog will probably trip on them, but of course, you don't want them too small. The methodology the webpage mentioned (drawing closely around the paw and measuring with a tape measure) worked well. Our dog has dewclaws, and the shoes don't seem to irritate them, but he has only worn the shoes for short jogs so far. At this point, we are very pleased with the quality of the shoes, and early success in having our dog tolerate them well.

Breathable, V opening to get paw in easier, good wide bumper area on toe, two velcro straps to secure, good traction on soles, well made and designed dog boot, reasonably priced. Very happy with my purchase.*As with any dog boots the dog will need to be trained to wear them, just go slow, one boot at a time, lots of treats, have dog walk a bit, go on to second boot, same thing. Expect dog to walk funny at first, they will get the hang of it quickly as long as you give them time to adjust. :)

I bought these in a size 6 for my golden retriever. She had hip displaysia and was dragging her toes, injuring her feet. At first, they were just great as foot protectors. As her mobility problems advanced, these shoes proved invaluable in helping her keep her feet placed normally and helping her have enough traction to get up off the tile floor. These shoes have a LOT of wear from her abnormal dragging steps. In spite of the fact that she wore the treads off, they lasted and continued to protect her feet. I’d give them 6 stars if I could.

For desert-doggies, these booties are great. Make sure you measure - my boy has big feet, but they're long, rather than fat. He wasn't super thrilled about them at first, but we put them on him at the beginning of a hike (a mellow hike just to get him used to them) and he became resigned to them pretty quickly. He kicked one off, but I got it back on and tightened the velcro and we had no more issues. Arizona trails feature sharp rocks and sneaky bits of cactus as other pokey things. These boots have thick soles with lots of tread, but very breathable mesh to keep paws cool. So even though my boy doesn't love them, we think they're great.

The shoes where a size too big. They look sturdy, however dod not have the chance to test them... I would had given them a 5 stars, but they are charging me $6.27 to return the item, which will be deducted from my purchase. Doesn't really leave me the option of exchanging...Update: The shoes are awsome and cute. However, I bought them too big for my dog and after trying to return it, Amazon charged me $6 for shipping. At first i thought this was the seller, therfor my negative review. Nevertheless, I appreciate the great customer service the seller had in responding to the issue. They refunded all my money and explain the situation. I am defenetly buying again from here... this time the right size 😊 thank you for making things right.

The product is good quality. I got this for my 60 pound dog because of the chemicals they use on the roads in the winter, her pads kept getting burnt. It works good, but wish I had gone with a smaller size. I measured her pad as 3"L x 2 1/2W. I went with a size 7. It's kinda big on her. I think I should have gone with a 4. Oh well, better too big then small. I tighten the velcro straps

After our move to Western Colorado last year, we decided our dog needed boots since she knew nothing of cactus and we often hike where the rocks are sharp or the ground is very hot. We've gone through several other more expensive brands of boots which only seemed to last for a couple hiking trips. These have been on a half dozen hikes and still holding up well.One thing to note - I wish these dog boot sellers would sell front and back boot sizes as a set. Almost all dogs back paws are a size smaller than their front paws. We purchased size 6 which fit our dogs front paws well, but they are difficult to get tight on the back. I'd suggest purchasing two pairs in different sizes and colors so you can get the sizing correct. Keep one color for the front feet and a different color for the back feet. The dogs don't care about fashion. This way you are less likely to loose a boot.

I have purchased this product in the past and it has worked wonderfully for our needs, but this time there is an issue with the order. I purchased 1 set of size 6 shoes, which is 4. But only received 3. I need the other shoe, as my dog has 4 feet! Can this situation be addressed ASAP?***Update...excellent customer service. Issue was resolved asap! A joy to work with and we will continue to use these products.

sizing guide was good 7cm for a Labrador, but the Velcro straps are awkward to get fitted and done up right
