I've had this product for almost a year. It works great - it went off when I burned dinner, and it is easy to test. Installation was a breeze, and what I love about this is that it can be put anywhere - no need to hard wire. And since the battery is built in, no need to dig through your drawer for a 9volt. But the best part is the customer service - I had purchased two of these units, and went to install the second one several months after installing the first. I discovered that the wall bracket was missing in the 2nd box, but it was way after the return window. I found their email address on my amazon purchase page and emailed them, explaining the problem. The customer service rep got back to me right away and ended up sending me a replacement promptly. Why can't all companies be this responsive, considerate, helpful, and ethical? I wish I could give this 10 stars! I will look for the X-Sense name for all my future alarm system needs.

This review is being written after six months of use. This smoke detector comes with a 10-year battery, and that alone makes it worth the price. I was able to mount it exactly where my old unit had been—quick and easy, no fuss at all.The real win here is not having to change batteries every six months. One less chore to remember, and added peace of mind. I'm very pleased with this product so far.

Over the past 50 years EVERY smoke detector loudly demanding that I change the battery, has been designed to make the battery nearly impossible to access. Why is this? I'm NOT the only person to experience this! So FINALLY, a smoke detector with a 10-year non-replaceable battery. When it's life is over, toss it. Wonderful.

So my household procrastinated, and slacked when needing to buy batteries for the smoke detectors. They were all starting to go bad one after another due to replacing them close together in time but not all at once, so the beeping sounds from all of them going off through the day was driving me nuts. Instead of replacing them like a normal sane family, my husband headed the way by detaching the alarms one by one to get rid of the God awful beeps. As you can imagine, it's easy to forget you took the alarms down and remember to put those batteries in once the beeps go away, which is why they put the beeps in there in the first place! 😏 Well fast forward months and months later, I woke up in the middle of the night to something that felt off. I couldn't put my finger on it but I had a really bad feeling as soon as I awoke. I then started to smell a smokey scent and smelled a very faint fire burning. I then started to sit up still half asleep and realized the room had a light cloud of smoke like a blanket hovering throughout the bedroom. It then clicked in my mind what was happening and I sat straight up in bed and woke my husband up, freaking out that the house was most likely on fire. We have an older style home that has been renovated, but the outlets haven't been updated yet and they are the 2 prong ungrounded kind. We found that downstairs in one of the outlets that had a square box adapter on the end of the prong of the extension cord plugged in and because of the weight and probably something being grazed across or hitting the side of the plug loosened the adapter out and was sparking and starting to melt the adapter and the cord plugged in. This was falling onto the carpet creating a slowly simmering ember in the carpet that was starting to light and about to set ablaze a full blown fire at any moment. The whole house was filled with smoke and created a problem with trying to go throughout the house getting the kids and pets outside and after was difficult to find where the area was that was causing the burning since everything smelled like smoke. We found the problem and were able to put out the fire trying to fester, we used put fire extinguisher to put the flames out, the plug was turned of and cord pulled out- it took the rest of the night well into the morning to finally get the smoke to dissapate. Luckily I had gotten up just in time that it saved our home and lives, everyone and everything was OK, but I never wanted to experience that feeling of impending doom and frightening chaos never ever again. My husband drove to the 24/7 hours walmart that very morning and got those batteries that we shouldve definitely replaced and been on top of making sure the detectors were working. Well as soon as my husband got home we couldn't find the detectors we placed together in a bag. I know for a fact my husband lost it, but he thinks I threw it away. Not a chance. I know his butt lost the bag! or threw it out unknowingly 🤨 Well, after looking with no end in sight of where the bag of detectors were, I jumped on Amazon and found some smoke alarms that were two-day delivery or same day for $2.99 extra shipping. YES PLEASE! We received the detectors that evening and put those suckers up immediately. Whew! Never again will we go with not caring about our smoke alarms. The alarms we purchased seem well constructed, well made quality and of a good material, the design makes for universal fit, it slipped right in the place of the old detectors anchored spot without any kind of installation needed and all worked directly out of the box. I only took a star off because I haven't technically been able to test how well they are at detecting smoke or the loudness of the alarm going off. I wasn't too thrilled at first at having to pay the extra fee for each one but having a piece of mind knowing our home is once again covered is priceless 😅

Looks like a nice quality smoke detector. Purchased this one for the photoelectric sensor. Seems like the best doe for that type of sensor detector. Plan to purchase another alarm with the other sensor so I have total protection. Can't beat the quality and price in my opinion. Average size. No need for connectivity since it runs off a 10-year battery. The alarm was pretty loud when I tested the button.

Easy install

Haven’t had a fire to evaluate it (hooray!), but I can say that installation and initial testing were very easily done. 10-year battery life is a real convenience. Pricing was cost effective, too. A good value in my opinion.
