impressive detail & very good value
when i saw the amazon shipping box on my doorstep i wasn't sure what it was; i only had one outstanding order which was this 'Deluxe Modern Kitchen' and i didn't think that would need a box even half this size. I was wrong--the large box was necessary. Folks, this is one serious kitchen--the kind that, if it were life-sized, you would find in $5 million homes in the Hamptons (i'm guessing). If my wife wanted a (full-size, working) kitchen like this, i don't think i could afford it. I have purchased (and assembled) a fair amount of barbie furniture over the past couple of years; none of those products were anywhere near as realistic as this product--the detail on the appliances is truly impressive. I have purchased barbie furniture sets for $20 or so and which include four or five simple plastic pieces; By comparison, i would expect this product to cost two or three times what it actually did--very good value. Most importantly, my six-year old daughter loves it. And i love it because i didn't have to assemble it (it arrives as three or four separate "units"). Design aside, the build quality seems good. Any negatives? So it comes with quite a few very small accessories--plates, coffee cups, saucers, pots, pans, milk cartons, etc., again, all of astonishing detail. Obviously these are very small, and on a good day, my daughter tends to pick up and put away only those toys in plain view; the smaller items will very likely remain on the floor. And within a few weeks l will have accidentally stepped on every one of these little accessories. Still, it's hard to fault the product for this.In fact (and this is probably

Great Kitchen!
This has been the best investment I have made for my granddaughter. She started playing with her Barbies after the kitchen arrived. We are building a house for her and she was so excited to arrange the appliances. I did paint it, as pink was not 'our theme' and except that I couldnt paint the "glass doors" I am no unhappy with the paint job. (first time I have ever painted toy plastic)There have been comments about the sturdiness of the appliances. All you have to do is hold on to the top of the appliance to open up the doors and there is no problem. They would have to be weighted down heavily to be able to open the doors without holding on to the tops. Plus, they would have to make the doors not be plastic on plastic to keep them from sticking, in order to freely open the doors without holding onto the tops. All of that would defeat the low low price on this kitchen. There are a lot of dishes and food stuffs that come with the kitchen for hours and hours of play time. Lets not forget the stove/oven that 'sizzles' well, I'm sure that somewhere there is a kitchen that sounds like that. But my granddaughter loves it.We both are happy. I plan on buying another kitchen and painting it a different color. The grand kids picked out purple. Who am I to argue with the designers!

Great Barbie Kitchen
This is a very cute toy. It is a gift, so my daughter hasn't played with it yet, but she will love it. I opened it upon arrival and inspected all moving parts & pieces and nothing was broken. There was a sticker on the stove that was pretty crooked that I was able to peel off & reapply. A couple of the drawers were hard to open due to tiny spots of uneven plastic, but I was able to shave them down with sharp scissors. These were very minor things. This is not a toy for kids who are rough when they play, as it feels like it wouldn't take much to break it. But if kids are gentle, this seems to be a great, very detailed little toy. Her Barbies will love their new kitchen.

Very Cute Kitchen!
I absolutely adore this little kitchen! Wish I had one when I was a little girl. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas to go into the dollhouse I'm building. Perfect size for Barbie! Very realistic. Stove lights up but that's it. No lights in microwave like it's suppose to, but that's okay. It's worth the price, regardless! Comes with a few dishes, pots and pans, and food. All the cabinets open. The bottom drawer of the fridge was a little tough to open, but I was able to loosen it by opening and closing it multiple times. The back is cardboard, but all my Barbie furniture growing up was the same way. It's pretty sturdy. I don't see it as a problem like a few of the comments here. If anything, I can always glue it in the dollhouse if my daughter wants me to. It holds all of the food and dishes my daughter previously owned along with the food it came with. She stored her silverware and utensils in the drawer on the bottom of the stove, and put all her "precooked" food in the freezer part of the fridge. All in all, it is an adorable kitchen and it's well worth the price!

Excellent set for 10" Ann Estelle Dolls!
This is a really great kitchen for the Robert Tonner "Ann Estelle" 10" dolls. If you look at it like it is a "kids play kitchen" instead of a REAL kitchen, then it seems to work well (Ann is almost as tall as the refrigerator!)This is VERY similar to the very RARE "my first Kenmore" Kitchen (there is one selling here on Amazon for $350! Of course, it is probably not made quite as well, but I think once I repaint the Barbie-Pink to white, it will look great. All four pieces can be used alone - so you can set up the kitchen however you'd like. And there are great shelves in all the cabinets and appliances! Comes with lots of food, pots and pans, plates, a silver tea-set and more! Even ice cubes for the ice machine!Oh, but and I am definitely snipping the wire to the ridiculously sounding "sizzle" that sounds more like a train barrelling through the kitchen! But the light works in the oven! Very cool!
