Daelmans Single Jumbo Caramel Wafers, 1.38-Ounce Box (Pack of 36)

I purchased these somewhat accidentally. I meant to move them to my "Save for Later" list. Now I'm so glad I didn't. These are the same brand as the bags of mini waffles at Trader Joes, but so much better. These come in a medium strength cardboard box - meant for store display. Each is individually wrapped. None of them were in the least bit damaged. (Which make them all that much more enjoyable). Each has a bit of caramel seeping out the edges (no stinting on the caramel, no dry bits without caramel!). But the caramel doesn't stick to the wrapper if they have been stored in a cool, dry place (our cupboard could have reached a temp as high as 78 degrees F). Each comes out their wrapper easily - tear at one end of the seam and then across the seam & fold back. You end up with a nice little envelope to hold the cookie. Or you can do as recommended & place the cookie over a warm drink and melt the caramel further. But the caramel is plenty soft enough to enjoy without this. Many years back I had a brief trip to Amsterdam. Along with the many not-so-happy memories (getting a virus and being hit by a slow moving tram - long story), one of my happiest was my search for and purchase of stroopwafels. I was able to find them in a small bakery a couple of blocks from my hotel. Not knowing what I was getting, I only bought a small package. Big mistake! One I have regretted. I have found the small packages of stroopwafels in grocery stores from time-time. They tend to be crumbled around the edges and a bit dry. The little stroopwafels from Trader Joes vary. Sometimes they are great. Sometimes they are crumpled. These stroopwafels are all very fresh. Very crisp, with their chewy centers. They remind me very much of the ones I bought in Amsterdam (identical flavor). Their flavor is well balanced. Sweet, but not candy-bar-sweet. So now I am a happy camper with 36 individually wrapped cookies to take me back to the happier places in Amsterdam (the Art Museums, walks amongst the flowers and the friendly faces). So I will be back for more. I do highly recommend this particular purchase of 36 wafels.

Great taste

Got them on time! Ordered Jan 9 and the estimated arrival if Feb1-17. But mine came on Jan 30. I first tasted this in United Airlines flight. I knew I have to get more of this. The actual box was open probably through customs. I think 2 were broken but did not matter tastes the same. I got 36 pcs for $24.99. Really good deal but have to wait for it to be shipped though. This is really good wafer caramel cookies. Goes really well with my tea. Warmed it up in the microwave for 10sec and it was really good. I will get more once I finish my pack hope its the same price.

Had my coworkers try these and they love them. They gave these to me on my United Flight and I had to buy a box of them. Im on my second box within two weeks. Very addicting. Addendum- Note that the date on the box will be in European format. I didn’t know this and thought the waffles were delivered to me expired. I’m made a negative review initially but retracted that review due to a misunderstanding.

These used to be 1 per package. Now all of a sudden there's only 18 pkgs, each pkg has 2. I don't like this new arrangement. Bring back the 1 per pkg please!

These taste fantastic! Love that they are individually wrapped! Easy to travel with or eat on the go.

You don’t see stroopwafels much in the US, but apparently they are huge in Europe. I first came across them on an Icelandair flight into Schiphol, and saw them at nearly every breakfast until I got back home. As the packaging suggests, try putting one over a mug of tea; when the middle starts to sag a bit, it is ready to eat. Always a hit with guests who’ve never seen them before.

No dislikes. Fell in love with these while in Amsterdam recently. So glad to be able to get them here. Arrived in perfect condition and very quickly.

Super lecker und super süß

I discovered these on a trip to the Netherlands. They are very nice a bit like a biscuit with caramel in the middle. Each pack has two stroopwaffels wrapped together and there are 18 packs. Perfect for packed lunchs or a sweet treat with a drink. Very nice to eat.

Price is a bit shocking but these are so tasty it won't matter.

Tried these on the airplane and now I can’t stop eating them!!!! I would eat them every breakfast and most mornings I do! They’re a bit expensive, honestly they should make them cheaper since buying in bulk. But they’re soooooo goooooood! I’ll end up doing it again because now that I have run out of them, they’re in my dreams haha
