Daawat-e-Ishq

Yes, 5 stars. Glad to see so many other 5 stars here. Really enjoyable movie; stick with it til the first 1/2 hour cos it takes an unexpected turn and is really quite a good movie. Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor absolutely carried this movie, and it's when we get to their meeting that it really starts to sizzle as a good movie. Anupam Kher, the quintessential father once again. Many don't know that Parineeti Chopra is the sister of the blockbuster beauty Priyanka Chopra (oh, look, she got billing over Aditya Roy Kapoor, who gave a stellar performance the troubled hearthrob in Aashiqui 2, among others movies, before her time). Parineeti was simply discovered as a natural when given a screen test, while working at YashRaj films and hanging around the sets; but being in the Chopra family, had much exposure to the industry, I'm sure). Probably Indians know this but maybe not Westerners. I think she's got incredible charisma, I don't mind at all that she's not model thin in this movie, still very voluptuous. I hope the industry will keep putting her in movies that let her shine. Walking through that hotel, she was a powerhouse of beauty and confidence. I liked her in Hasee Toh Phasee, Shuddh Desi Romance and Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl (an early one for her) but not so much in Ishaqzaade, which was too rough and tough of a movie for me. Anyway, hope to see more of her, and Aditya Roy Kapoor as well, in upcoming movies. This is the second time I've seen this, after seeing it a year ago. Thumbs up.

Parineeti is infectiously adorable and so fun to watch. Aditya is also wonderful to watch, I wish Amazon carried more of their films!!

Clean family movie, full of color with some drama. Good message, bringing awareness of the dowry system continues to be practiced in the cultures with significant negative impact to the society at large. Great acting on everyone's part - Enjoyed the evening at the movies- thanks.

Watch if you don’t have anything else to watch.

It was a very funny movie. Me and my parents loved watching it. The comparison of two cultures of India was well done. It is a very interesting movie. 5 stars! Aditya Roy Kapoor did a fabulous job!

This was captivating especially once Aditya joined the cast. His character was adorable, lovable, perfect, etc. The chemistry was incredible. He has such a sensuous look that makes you want to melt or just eat him up. Parineeti was great as well. She was working that wealthy facade. She exuded such confidence. I love a strong heroine. This was a comedy but the dowry issue is real sad over there. Women lose their lives everyday due to that practice.

Ein unterhaltsamer, bunter und typischer Bollywood Film. Parineeta Chopra und Aditya Roy Kapoor passen sehr gut zusammen. Sehr kurzweiliger Film.

Fantastic film and can't see why it was a flop and from where I'm standing it certainty ain't. The role suited him than the Aashiqui 2 Aditya is in. Sorry but this film I watched again.
