I used this insect repellent in Arizona over the summer when the mosquitoes were really bad. Mosquitoes usually love me, but I can’t stand strong-smelling bug sprays because they irritate my nose and give me a headache. This one had a very subtle scent and felt comfortable on my skin, while still doing a great job keeping bugs away. It was also a great size to fit in a small bag. I used this for the Chicago summer mosquitoes and it worked well. I used it on my kids as well (4 and 5 years old) we reapplied about every hour. The spray itself is not as sticky as others. The bottle could use a different nozzle as it was contracting after a few sprays. I decided to not get an aerosol can due to plane travel but I can see that aerosol is best for application. Today I did an experiment to see how effective this spray is at preventing me from getting bit. Before I share my experience first let me say this spray is great at not leaving me feeling greasy and stinking of bug spray. There is a fairly strong scent when applying so I recommend doing it outside but once it’s been applied I can’t smell it or feel it at all. As for effectiveness I would rate it a 6 out of 10. This morning I walked my normal nature trail walk with my dog and in the one picture you can see how badly I was attacked by mosquitoes. I wasn’t wearing any bug spray that morning and I paid for it. I decided I would use this an opportunity to test how effective the spray was since I already had my control without it. About 12 or so hours later I did the same walk but I sprayed the bug spray everywhere except my face. The second picture you see is the result of that walk, I didn’t get a single bite on the back of my neck. I did get one bite under my left ear and one on my right temple but as I said I didn’t have any spray there. That’s an important point to keep in mind, this spray seems to only work where it’s applied so if you miss a spot you will likely get bit there. I still had some mosquitoes buzzing around me and I swatted a few away but to come out with two bites instead of over twenty was great. Overall I think this is a great product. It was effective enough at reducing the amount of mosquito bites I got while not leaving me sticky and stinky. My main issue with it is it’s not a great repellant, you will still get mosquitoes buzzing all around you. It’s also only effective where it’s applied, if you missed a spot you’re probably going to get bit there so make sure you are thorough when applying. I think if I was camping or in deep woods I would stick with a stronger spray but if you are looking for an everyday spray for casual walks this what you want.

Best mosquito control ever! Doesn’t smell at all! And I mean AT ALL! Light and clean spray. I’m the person that attracts the one mosquito while visiting the North Pole. So…this stuff really works!

Slight odor, but kept bugs off

Works great initially, and once completely dry it is odorless. However, just this pump version seems to change when exposed to warmer temps after a few days. We kept it outdoors on the deck for easy access. A week later, it started having a strong odor. Tried another, same thing. Scared to use it at that point. The canned product does not do this. Otherwise, works great.
