Buy the regular in bulk, add RED PEPPER FLAKES!
I like both the regular (non-spicy) as well as the spicy/hot Old South Pickled Okra. However the spicy version is very expensive compared to the regular, and is not available in the 64oz jar. I've discovered that I can buy the regular in the large size, then toss in a small palm-full of red pepper flakes (I use the free ones our local pizza place sends!) to create your own spicy version. Works great, tastes (to me) indistinguishable from the "real" spicy version and is tons cheaper. Adjust to your own taste!

Great Flavor and Decent Value
I love these pickled okra. They're nice and crisp without all the sugar that some brands have. I can go through a half gallon of these things in an embarrassingly short time. I have seen this same product elsewhere for pickup at a shockingly lower price, but it's been a decent value with shipping included. I highly recommend this product A couple of comments about the product that kept me from giving it 5 stars - I'll run into a few pods in each jar that are too big and they start to get a little fibrous. They have a great dill pickle flavor, but there are no herbs or spices in the jar which makes me wonder how natural the flavor is. There is some artificial coloring used.

Crispy and Delicious
I like my pickled okra to be a little crispy towards the stem and a little soft towards the end/in the middle. This brand of okra hit the mark on texture. They tasted exactly like I hoped they would. Just tangy and salty enough for a perfect balance. If you like "Talk O Texas" brand, this okra will probably be too mild for you. If you're looking for a more mellow taste, "Old South" is the right brand. The package arrived on time. I ordered two jars and they were individually double-wrapped in bubble wrap. I'm at an APO address and many things are torn open or broken upon arrival, so the protective packaging was nice to see.

Buy large quantities and save
Ever looked at the price of pickled okra in the grocery store? Sticker shock. Now, do the math on the price per ounce and see immediately the cost savings of buying a large container. But, what about the product, you ask? Well, they are just fine in taste, crunch and texture. Just like I used to have in N. Carolina. (I live in N. CA.)
