Great for a project.
Bought this cable because I needed to plug two "Atari Joysticks" into a controller I was building. One of these cut in half did the job. The wires inside the cable were of good quality and easy to solder to. In addition, they connect to the pins in the order of the standard resistor color code (black brown red orange etc.) so once I figured that out it made hook-up a breeze.

Inexpensive good quality cable
This cable did the trick for me with my test equipment. I tried to use some DB9 to RJ45 with a 50' Ethernet cable but for whatever reason didn't seem to work (pinned correctly), thought my equipment was defective but this cable worked no problem.only down side is winding it up every time after use so its not a tangled mess and your hands get all dirty but what can you do.
