Gibson Elite Mayfair Bay 16-Piece Embossed Double Bowl Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 – Blue Stoneware Plates and Bowls

I am not the best photographer sorry about the picture. These dishes are stoneware which is usually heavy. I am in my '60s and have problems with my hands so I was a little leery about purchasing them. I can tell you they are not heavy like the old stoneware they are beautiful. I couldn't find this particular set in seating for six so I purchased two orders now I have an amazing set of dishware and I can't wait to invite the family over for dinner. I would recommend this dishware for anyone who likes the stability and durability of stoneware but hesitating due to the weight of stoneware.Don't be afraid of this set. I believe you'll enjoy this set for many years to come I hope this helps someone

Beautiful dishes. Pretty color, nice sheen, and good quality. Great for a tropical, beachy location!

I do love this set of dinnerware, but do have a word of caution if you plan on purchasing multiple sets. If you want multiple sets, you really should order them all at once. I first ordered 2 sets of service for 4 place settings of the “Gibson Elite Green Lantern Service for 4 (16 Piece) Double Bowl Dinnerware Set, Teal, Soft Gray, Dinnerware Set”. The first 2 sets arrived together very well packed in boxes with lovely color graphics on the boxes. I liked the dishes so much that I wanted to buy an extra set of 4 place settings, so I would have 12 of each in case some broke in the future. This third box came packed very well packed in a plain cardboard box, no color pictures, just information stamped on the box. It seemed that the third set was made in a different factory. The color of the bottom of the dinnerware of the third set is a lighter color (dark green) and the bottom of the first 2 sets is almost black. See photo of them stacked in the dishwasher for comparison. The color of tops of the dinnerware from all 3 sets are the same. I didn’t bother sending them back the third set because they are basically for backup. The dishes are very well packed for shipping (we live in a rural area, bumpy dirt roads, so I was impressed that no dishes arrived broken). Also, depending on your dishwasher, the dishes do take up more room in the dishwasher, but I’m okay with that. We’ve been using them for a month and no cut marks so far. As other people mentioned, they do get hot in the microwave, but that’s not un-manageable and food does look beautiful on them.

I ordered the blue set of these Gibson Elite Mayfair Bay dinnerware set because of the beautiful color depicted in the on-line photos (ie. a lovely aqua blue. But, as many of the other reviewers warned, they are NOT that color. They aren't even close to an aqua, teal or turquoise shade. They are a darker shade. More of a pretty lake blue. That said, they arrived on time, were very well packaged and appeared to be of excellent quality. So, although I had to send them back due to the color being so off from what I needed. I would recommend these for anyone simply wanting a beautiful blue dinnerware set vs. seeking the specific depicted in the photos. Also, In don't plan to include a photo with this review because, as we have determined, photos can be very misleading.

We ordered three sets and one of the plates came chipped. We contacted the customer service email for a replacement plate. They responded quickly and sent us two replacement plates instead of the one we requested!

Purchased 2 like new sets that were heavily discounted, wife loves this set.

I loved the overall look of these dishes. I ordered 2 sets of these dishes. Both boxes have dishes that have several spots that the glaze looks like it had a bubble that popped and has the white stoneware shoeing through. The small plates seem to all be fine.. The large plates have the largest size and most number of unglazed spots. The spots on the bowls are not as noticeable as the plates . The larger bowls have more as well as larger spots. I contacted the manufactory and asked if this would make the dishes prone to chip or explode in the microwave if moisture soaked into the spots. Here is the response. Thank you for your feedback we will make our team is aware of this. As for the chipping there can be many factors to why the dishes can chip For example, uneven heating caused by certain foods like a potato, bacon, or frozen foods. Invisible hairline cracks that may develop while washing, storing, etc. and when exposed to heat it results in cracking or chipping. If you do not feel safe with using them please reach out to the original place of purchase for an exchange. It did not address my question, but seemed to be a copy and paste about chipping in general. I replied that this was not chipped but imperfections in the glaze, The response Thank you for letting us know. As mentioned before our warehouse can only do a courtesy replacement for 3 dishes. If you have more than 3 please reach out to Amazon for an exchange or refund. She said nothing about a courtesy replacement for 3 and I didn't get the impression that they were really concerned about the quality control . I have thought about returning them for an exchange , but the boxes are heavy . I don't want to go to the trouble of boxing them up and driving all the ay to the UPS store, only to receive dishes with the same defects.( As both boxes had dishes with these defects.) The pictures are only a few of the ones with flaws. There are several more. I looked for several hours before I bought these dishes and really love the way they look except for the flawed ones. I will use the ones in best condition for everyday and hope they don't chip from the edges of white spots being hit by knives or crack from being in the microwave. Hopefully they will address this issue at the manufactory.

I love these pieces! They are each unique and look like artisan pottery pieces. The colour is true to the photos but each dish is slightly different in how dark the colour is. We LOVE that there are no mugs in this set but instead 2 different sized bowls. I have used them in the dishwasher and the microwave with NO problems! Very happy so far. And they are so light!

La vajilla es preciosa, tiene un buen tamaño, consta de: plato llano, plato hondo, plato de postre y cuenco. Compré para 4 personas. El inconveniente que le veo es que pesa mucho. He tramitado la devolución porque había comprado varias cosas para el comedor: mesa, sillas, alfombra, cubiertos… Tuve un problema con las sillas y la alfombra y las he tenido que devolver y ahora no me combinan los colores; una pena porque me gustaba mucho

I purchased this as a shower gift. It was listed on their wedding registry . I think they were very happy with it.

Lo platos son caros pero lo valen son preciosos!!! pedí dos tandas para mi gusto vienen poca cantidad.
