Worked well and has a good alarm level
I bought this failed circuit alarm a number of months ago, and am only reviewing it now because I wanted to see if it works well. It does. I have it hooked to a 50 cu ft freezer in a garage. The breaker on the dedicated 20A line flipped, and the alarm could be heard inside the house through the wall/closed door. Wouldn't hear it in a distant part of the house, but in a room nearby the garage (kitchen) it was nicely audible. According to the manufacturer, with a fresh battery, the alarm goes for 36 hours. Haven't tested that aspect of the device, but it was one of the reasons I went for it originally, and it's a very attractive feature that led me to spend the extra money on this unit rather than cheaper alternatives. Very happy I did.

Works perfectly!
My mother's life depends upon oxygen. We got this for her concetrator after we awoke one morning to no power. Thankfully it was off less than an hour. She could have died in her sleep from oxygen deprivation if it had been off long enough. We ordered this alarm that day. Even though there's a disclaimer regarding use with medical equipment, it works just as described. The alarm sounded loud and clear when a transformer blew out recently. We can sleep at night now knowing we'll be alerted if the power goes out.PROS: Easy to install Loud enough to be heard throughout 3 bedroom ranch home Works exactly as described Works as well as more costly units specifically for medical use (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK)CONS Disclaimer against using for medical equipment

Functional Features
Really a 4+ or 5-. OK, here are the negatives: 1) High pitched, so in the garage or basement it may be hard to detect it going off. 2) The plug is not a pass-thru so it takes up a socket. 3) The stick on mounting pad is the permanent type and on the back. Thus, when it comes time to change the battery, which is in the back, you have to destroy the mounting pad. (Probably should have included a couple Command Strips, which are removeable.)However, the positives, for me, strongly outweigh the problems. It is a sophisticated product that has sturdy switches and buttons. It has an LED indicator that the power is on. There a push to test button and and a Silence Switch, so once you know the power tripped you can silence the alarm without unplugging the unit, useful if the alarm is remotely mounted. There is about ten feet of cord between the plug and the alarm unit. This partially mitigates the alarms high pitch since you can place the alarm unit closer to your normal living area. (e.g. inside the house next to the garage door.) Compared to the others I found on Amazon, this was the better choice for me.

Product is very loud and audible two floors away.
After having a RCA alarm on our deep freezer fail several times due to a GFIC kicking out, I was on the look for something dependable. I ran across this on amazon and decided it sounded like just what I needed. It doesn't have to be plugged in with the deep freezer and just has to be on the same circuit! I was delighted.I am always skeptical of ordering from vendors and prefer to order what I can amazon prime. Since I really liked the idea of this product I took a chance and ordered from CSH INC. About an hour after ordering I realized they might ship USPS and not UPS so I contacted them to give them my mailing address by email. They responded immediately and had already shipped my item. They also assured me they would help me should my product not arrive to my destination. In fact it arrived just two days later. Very pleased with the customer service.I read the instructions and quickly had this hooked up and tested it. Our house is on three levels and our freezer is on the ground level. I could hear the alarm very well on the bottom two levels with clarity. On the top level I could hear it but it was faint. I don't think it would wake me up but if I was awake I would notice the sound eventually and wonder what it was. I switched off the GFIC and this immediately went off without hesitation. Upon resetting the GFIC it went back to its resting state. Another feature I really like it the green light is very bright and I can easily see it from the front of the garage and the freezer is located at the back almost 40' away. Our old unit you had to get rightup at it to see if the light was on or not.Others have mentioned the attaching to the wall with velcro. I had purchased extra velro just in case. Our walls in the garage are painted plywood. I did not need the additional velcro. What was on the unit adhered without difficulty and has been holding up the unit for three days now.I am extremely pleased with this product and with the customer service from CSH.

High Quality Product at a Reasonable Price!
I wanted/needed one of these units because I have sleep apnea and sleep connected to a VPAP machine, so I want to know if there is a power outage! Many reliable units, used to alarm a food freezer for example, cost over a hundred dollars. On the other hand, there are lots of units cheaper than this one. I tried one sold elsewhere, and it was junk - not something i would trust my survival to! I threw it away. There are also complaints on many sites that the lower-priced ones are anemic - not loud enough to wake you up.The Failed Circuit Alarm (New Style) is a high quality product with a loud alarm, at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it!

some good, some bad
This seems okay for the price, and it does sound an alarm when power is lost. However there were some disappointments. First, the mounting system (velcro) is flimsy - it would be better to have the option of mounting screws. Second, the alarm works and can be heard in the same room as the unit, but seems anemic, even with a new fully charged battery. Third, on the specific unit I received, the green "AC power present" light does not work. I can live without it, but am uncomfortable that the manufacturing quality control seems lacking. If I had tested before installing, I would have attempted to send it back, but my installation point required that I cut the cord and snake it through the wall to reach an outlet and then splice the cord. That couldn't have had any effect on the green light, but I suspect that voided the warranty. I should have tested before installing.
