Great idea
This migrating allows me to mount 2AD 200 flashes so that there’s no need to buy another flash like a ad300 or 400 flash. Since I own several A.D. 200 flashes. This will be great for outdoor photo shoots along with the Octa 24 inch soft box.

Larger speedlights
If you have normal sized speedlites and you like the magmod system (important because there are less expensive ways to mount), this ring is great. Easiest way to mount a speedlite in a softbox. You may also want a magshoe to take full advantage. I updated my speedlite to the Canon EL-1 this past month and it fits in the magring 2 if you remove the center piece. The magring 2 seems great other than the following limitation ONLY ONE canon el-1 (or equivalent oversized speedlight) will fit at a time....however if you are okay with squeezing in another flash, and not having the second door snap all the way, it does hold a canon el-1 and a canon 600ex rt ii side by side though the fit is tight and removes some of the "just pop it in and go" functionality of the magring2. Even though the second door doesn't snap fully into place (no click, but still shut) with the above setup, it is still very secure and doesn't come undone after rigorous shaking. Im hoping the magring 3 (if they make one) will be size adjustable on the backside mounting part with like a pull apart track, so I could someday fit 2 canon el-1 speedlites or their equivalent sized speedlites at once. So one star off for lacking the custom sizing solution, though the removable center piece almost solves the issue.
