Fermentation mashing and rolling pin at a lower price
Exactly what I expected. It appears to be a solid piece not glued and it’s not warped or chipped. Rather than have 2 separate utensils this will be used for both mashing my sauerkraut for fermentation and for my tortillas, pizza and other things. It’s a great price and will save probably more than 50% over the other options. It is quite large, which I expected and wanted. It does I think need a food grade oil for protection.

Fantastic rolling pin!
I was looking for the longest rolling pin I could find for making hand rolled pasta and this was it! It's sturdy, thick and heavy enough too so I think it will work well. I haven't been able to use it much yet, but I am pretty confident that it will be great. I intend to oil it up to keep it from drying out. Need to google first to make sure that's a good idea... I only wish they hadn't put the really insanely sticky bar code sticker on the side of it, a real pain to remove cleanly.

Great for cookies!
I bought this rolling pin back in May before the price went up. I paid a little over $9 with tax (and free shipping). It's perfect for rolling cookie dough when you want to keep the number of re-rolls to a minimum. It's long enough to roll a large size portion of dough. I also like that it's thick. I would even pay $15 for it if I hadn't gotten this one so cheap. Whatcha waitin' for? Buy it! (P.S. I use Home Depot plastic corner guards as my rolling guides. Less than $3 and you can cut into the size you need with sharp scissors. Better than those wooden dowels that get dirty and never seem to get clean enough once everything soaks into the wood. Gross. You can wash these with soap and water.)

Nice concept but WARPED
Didn't roll flat because it was warped. I really wanted this to work because it's hard to find a good heavy extra long rolling pin.

The replacement they had to send is GREAT!
I'd give this rolling pin 5 stars were it not for the first one I received being warped and chipped. However, in two days I received a replacement that is great. I love the heft, thickness and 20" width. I bought thickness rings (Talisman Designs Silicone Rolling Pin Bands | 8 Piece Set | Ensure Dough Thickness) here on Amazon, and they fit this pin PERFECTLY. I get exact thicknesses with ease. Before using the pin, I spent a day repeatedly wiping it with mineral oil and another day repeatedly wiping it hard and fast with paper towels to remove excess oil and burnish the finish. It soaked up a good deal of oil, and that's a good thing: it will now be fairly impervious to liquids or staining and it will be much less likely to warp in the future.

Game changing
MASSIVE transitional element for large dough and especially pasta. The french taper pins are nice for some stuff, but, this beast makes quick work of dough stretching and smoothing. I oiled with Boos Mysterious Oil immediately after initial cleaning, hopefully prolonging this tool for decades to come. The large diameter is awesome for my generous hands. YMMV. I paired this purchase with a 30x22 Roro noodle board. It's like a regular episode of Pasta Grannies in the house every weekend now.

It is not what you see in the picture
The picture shows a roller with grips but you get the piece of wood with no grips

Can roll out wider slabs
I use this roller for rolling out slabs of clay. This wider width allows the roller to glide along the spacers while rolling out a wider slab.
