I saw people ragging on this extension saying it's a poor quality fire hazard, so I gave it a shot and if I didn't like what I saw, I could return it.Surge protection is alright. There are two large metal oxide varistors sandwiching a thermal fuse - this will cut out live and neutral in the event of a failure. Some companies cheap out here by missing out on the thermal fuse but that is not the case here.Wires look to be stranded 12~14 AWG rated for 300-500V and that is also standard. You see 1000V rating on the more expensive (£80+) kits.USB charging is good. Very good isolation between 5V and 240V. It isn't fast charging but a decent USB C charging module is used here as shown in the pic. Manufacturers like to cheap out here but this is pretty good.Soldering job is a blobby mess but it is solid and I don't consider it a hazard. I would double check the short earthing wire bridging the two rows because a few strands failed to make a connection on mine. Minus points for acceptable spot welding of stranded wires. You will need triangle screw bits to disassemble.I rate this 9/10 and will happily connect my sensitive instruments to it.

Works fine, cord is thick can get in the way but overall works perfectly. Especially like the usb and usb c slots makes multiple charging easy

Amazon packaging had been opened and then poorly resealed. Product fine but possible attempted fraud in transit. Check your packaging and products prior to opening and take photos. Tried to find way to notify Amazon but could not do so!

UPON RECEIPT THE ITEM APPEARED TO BE OF GOOD AVERAGE QUALITY AND HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR APROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS. ALTGHOUG AN EIGHT-WAY, 13 AMP SOCKET CONNECTRION UNIT THE TOTAL LOAD CONNECTED IS LESS THAN 500 WATTS SO I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ISOLATING SWITCH HAS FAILED. BUYING THIS HAS PROVED AN EXPEENSIVE MISTAKE.

I ordered this to tidy all of the cables under my desk as they were messy and a fire hazard. Happy with this… made things a lot less confusing under there!!
