This item is really small, but perfect for individuals maybe running a booth, table, food truck or really any small vendor. This has a low price. Can be easily cracked with a screwdriver. This isn't going to stop someone from stealing, it's purpose is more effective as a visual deterrent. Hopefully it lets people think that you are aware of your money and it's security. It's small enough that if you knew a woodworker, craftsman or handyman, you could get a hidden moving panel on your floor or low ceiling and fit this right between your studs.

**UPDATE** I lost the keys that came with this box, and wrote the customer service email I found via amazon and had amazing help. They were responsive and kind, and sent me a new set that matched my lock for free, and followed up to make sure that I got the package when the mail carrier told them (incorrectly) that it had failed. What's more, the keys work great! (Now I can open the box again and remind myself of what little valuables I have in there, haha.) Thank you! I bought this for cash and valuables. I have a handful of silver dollars and coins, cash and my passport. The cash and passport fit in the bottom compartment and the coins fit in the top (some large in the bottom). I love it!! It's the best size - fits a low-profile in my home but also holds enough stuff and I can definitely keep adding to it, if need be. The finish is glossy and nice, it feels sturdy and the lock was easy to open and close. It comes with two keys, as well, which is nice. I'm sure it's not the most secure lock, but the mechanism works well for me and hey, at least it locks! I feel better about this than getting the Little Twin Stars mini safe, haha. That one was cuter, but I think this is more reliable and probably will last longer.

The Pitch: I was looking for a small, sturdy money box to hold cash inside of a safe. The Package: This little guy came in a cardboard box, but was also shrink-wrapped inside the box (a little unnecessary, but ok). Overall easy to unwrap and start using. The Fit: The box is exactly as described. It’s a small (in my case black) powder-coated metal box with a plastic change tray. The finish is very smooth and looks great. It is small, but more than big enough for my needs. The installed lock is light and will keep very immediate threats out, but as an amature lock-picker, I was able to defeat it in under a minute. But let’s be honest, you’re probably not buying this lockbox for Fort Knox level security. The Good: Small, attractive lockbox with a functional lock and change tray. The Bad: The box had a *very* strong plastic smell when I first opened it. A night in the garage and the smell is gone. The Ugly: Nothing, really. The Bottom Line: For ~$14 (as of the time of this review) is a great option for keeping track of cash. Just don’t expect it to keep motivated people out. I would absolutely order this again.

You definitely get what you pay for with this item, so sadly it’s not as much of a deal as I’d hoped. It feels sturdy because it has good weight to it but the metal is actually very thin. I worry that it would be easy for anyone with the right equipment to tear into. Assuming the metal casing holds up, the lock itself seems good. Usually I’m able to pick most cheap key locks (I’m not up to any funny business, I swear! I just played too much Skyrim as a kid), but I haven’t been able to pick this one yet. Very pleased about that. The keys look really generic though, so I bet anyone with one of these boxes can open anyone else’s box too. Which isn’t very secure. I’d hoped to use the plastic tray it comes with to store small jewelry items in the lockbox but the tray isn’t actually as wide as the box lengthwise (it’s actually a tight squeeze from front to back though, which seems odd) so it doesn’t stay level like it is in the listing picture. One side always rests on the bottom of the lockbox so anything you put in the tray may or may not be in the section you left it next time you open the box. You can see in my pics that I’d have to hold the tray in place for it to stay level. All in all, it’s a cheap lockbox at a cheap price so if you don’t need a high quality one that’s really secure, then this one should be fine. For a student on a budget, it’s pretty decent.
