Perfect for down sizing.
This mower is amazing. I modified the rear roller with a conveyor roller. It adds a bit of stability and needed weight. There is a video on YouTube about this mod. The height adjustments are easy, although you need to remove the wheel initially, it’s no big deal. I downsized and this is perfect for my small yard.

Great manual reel mower
Functions flawlessly, and provides nice clean cut. Works even better with aftermarket roller. Height adjustment takes a little time/disassembly. Good solid manual reel.

Heck yeah this is awesome
The tall skinny grass with seeds somehow escaped the blade. Everything is us donezo. Quality stuff. Easy to build!

Excellent Reel for the price
Easy to put together. Cuts excellently. Issues I've noticed is the reel is somewhat difficult to adjust the height quickly. To get it to its lowest settings you have to remove the wheels and adjust the back roller. Additionally, at the lowest heights <1", it lacks the weight to hold itself steady and will catch on the stolons. The end result is you have to shave down the grass, going over and over the grass again, to get it down to 0.5". Once it's down to .5" it will cut just fine, it's just difficult to lower the height of cut below 1" if you have thick healthy grass. No issues with wash boarding. Will get the job done. Definitely worth the price.

For small areas upkeep solid tool
Works great for a quick trims between the actual mowing. I bout this before I invested in a mower and it got me through full season but I did have to get someone to mow before I used it. It will not work with high grass overly high I mean. But once I had it mowed I used it every few days and it was great. Also if you have a big yard that’s a lot off walking so suggesting for smaller areas. But over all great

Well built, but didn't work for me
I bought this because my gas mower broke and I hoped to save money on gas for my next mower. I had long grass by the time this arrived (think knee-high) and tried it just to see how it would work, even though the manual said not to. Definitely don't do tall grass! The tall strands wrapped around the edges and knotted up, so I had to carefully pull those out, and the grass itself didn't really get cut; the mower just pushed it over, and since it was tall, it lay out flat enough to not even be grazed by the blades. That being said, when I weed-whacked it all down and went back over it, it did work better. You have to walk slow; the blades might spin faster the faster you walk, but that doesn't mean it's going to cut the grass faster. A slow, steady pace is best. The mower worked well for a few spots on my yard, but then it started jamming up and I couldn't figure out why. I *think* that my ground was too lumpy and the blades were hitting/stalling on dirt, but I couldn't tell for sure. Also, it rarely cut all the grass in a single pass and I would have to go over it once or twice to get the stray blades it missed. Ultimately, it wasn't for me and I returned it.So, in short, make sure your lawn is flat and doesn't have any lumps, walk slowly, and don't let the grass get too high! This is a great eco-friendly options if you're willing to put in a little extra work (i.e. shorter time between mowings). My lumpy yard wasn't a good fit, but I know plenty of people who would benefit greatly from a mower like this.

Clean Affordable Quiet Cut Once You Set it up
The EW 1715-16EW - 7 reel, 15.5" length, 5" diameter reel, 0.5"-2.5" cut height, 21 5/8"lb, 9 7/8" wheels, handlebar width 14 1/4", 1 wheel rotation to 4.2 reel rotations, plastic gears is an affordable, relatively light weight, mower w/easy to maneuver on the fly rear rollers. If cutting longer grass it doesn't wrap clippings around the driveshaft at the wheels. Thanks to the foresight of 1" long collars around the driveshaft at each wheel. The mower comes w/front end at the lowest setting. Originally I jacked up the back roller setting, but the cut was still too low for my purpose. I pulled the wheels and changed their setting from the lowest adjustment to the highest. On the roller I used the plastic hole closest to the roller combined w/middle metal hole on the frame. That left my cut a mite under 1.5".The reel only being 5" OD affords little room for tall grass. Mine was noisy though once I loosened the blades off of the bedknife, still cutting newspaper at slowest hand turned reel speed, it continued to cut well though at great reduction of noisy metallic clatter. The field of reel mowers w/more than five blades is very limited. Others available tend to have rear wheels and weigh a lot more. Neither of which I consider an advantage.5/22/23-ETA: After a year I'm till chuggin' along. My 'old' 16" reel is a Husqvarna 5-blade. I have it set at high to plow through the weeds for the first couple of cuts. As time goes on/heats up and the grass catches up w/weeds I pull out the Earthwise 7-blade.Really nice cut and reel mowers cut grass that grows vertically very well. I prefer the seven blade for a lower cut I do not have a manicured lawn plus I have a lot of hardwood trees front & back. I pick up little sticks all the time. When the reel stops due to snagging a little stick I place my shoe on the reel and pull it back to dislodge the stick. Then I tilt the mower on one wheel & ease up a mite to clear the obstruction. It's nice to cut in quiet. This year I pulled out the Husky and had forgotten that as the season went on last year I dropped the height to the bottom. I was chewing up weeds & leaves to beat the band. The next day my lower back, thighs & calves were sore pushing against the extra resistance. No biggie it was the first cut. The following day[second day from cut] my left knee tendon was so sore I couldn't hardly put any weight on it when walking. Luckily I had a rubber-tipped wooden cane handy. The next two weeks I spent a lot of time convalescing on the couch. Another two weeks after that before cutting grass/weed combo in moderation. If you're older I recommend starting at a higher height, especially early w/weeds prevalent and/or taller grass, then as the summer heats up/weeds die out lower to whatever level you desire. Because I'm not attempting to scalp my lawn I roll over a lot of sticks/what-not that helps keep obstructions to the minimum whilst extending the good edge on the blades.
