I purchased this primarily for the mic holder. There is a fair amount of adjustability with how the cupholder is positioned and how to position the mic holder. The boom that holds the mic feels solid and takes a little effort to position how you want it. But that is a good thing, so it doesn't sag with weight on it. We'll see how it holds up on the trails!The tightening of the cupholder into the car's existing cupholder is straightforward and is easy to get the right amount of tension to keep it in place. It keeps a Yeti Rambler tumbler in place solid.
