Stunning deck, beautifully packaged
I originally discovered MJ Cullinane when I purchased her Crow Tarot deck. I was captivated by the artwork and style of those cards, and loved the quality of the cards, guidebook, and box. And I was thrilled to learn there was a companion book that went along with the Crow deck!So it was an easy choice to buy another MJ deck - the Guardian of the Night tarot. Since I'm fairly new to tarot, I mainly use Rider-Waite-Smith style cards for readings because that's what I studied with, but I've been branching out to more "themed" decks with interesting, unique artwork. This deck is also stunning! The artwork is beautiful - dark, mysterious, moody. (Side note: some reviewers wrote that they felt certain the images are AI-generated. But according to MJ on her own website, they are not. She's a digital artist who draws her own images.)For the most part, there's not a lot of recognizable connection to RWS imagery, but the featured animals tell their own story. The included guide book has detailed descriptions (not just keywords) that help explain the animal meaning/connection. And each card is so richly detailed with symbolism - you'll find that you notice something new each time you look at the cards. I recommend spending time getting to know this deck. Perhaps select a card or two each day and really look into them. I feel that this deck is definitely one for doing more intuitive readings, not just memorizing a standard meanings. The deck has a decent card stock and a pleasant matte finish. I'm not too rough when I overhand shuffle - I hope they'll hold up well. The cards themselves are bigger than standard tarot size - these measure 3.5" x 5", so they're a handful! But they feel good and I like having that size variety compared to other decks in my collection (including some mini decks). They come packaged in a sturdy box, nicely decorated. A good value for the price paid. I wish more tarot card companies would realize that most people would gladly pay a few dollars more for a quality set of cards in a lovely box with a detailed guidebook specific to that deck.I'll definitely keep an eye out for future decks by MJ Cullinane! In the meantime, I'll thoroughly enjoy using her crows and animals in my readings!

Animal guidance & Tarot meaning in One
This deck has an excellent guidebook which melds the animal wisdom/energy with the Tarot so that you have a blended or enhanced-one could say, message. This deck is multilayered for the user, or it can be as simple as reading out of the guidebook. The art is fantastic for pulling in more meaning and messages. There are so many things to see and feel within the art. Or, if a person wanted to use this deck for strictly Tarot reading-that would be very feasible. The author has designed this deck so that you can use it for Yes or No questions. There is a list of cards which mean Yes and a list of cards which mean no. That is unique. The card stock is sturdy and it shuffles quite well. I really dig the back design of the cards that was choosen for this deck. The deck comes in a high quality box for holding the cards. This deck can be used by novice to professional Readers. I would recommend this deck, I love using it.

Beautiful Art, but misprinted deck
The art is great and the cards are a good sturdy quality. I got a misprinted deck with two sets of the major arcana, full pentacles and swords, the ace and 2 of wands, and the king and queen of cups. Your mileage may vary. Stunning art though.

Beautiful but could benefit from a non matte printing
The card stock is decent. I expected the colors to be more vibrant but the matte printing makes them feel dull/more subdued. I wish there was a picture of the back of the cards in the listing. The drawings are beautiful and the accompanying book is very well done. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit oversized but I never riffle my decks so that’s not a huge issue for me.

Gorgeous and Insightful
What a stunning deck.Practical notes out of the way - if you have smaller hands, it's a bit difficult to riffle shuffle. The cards are large and of stiff, quality, cardstock. Which is good the art is gorgeous and you'll want this deck to last your forever.I also appreciated the author's guidebook as well. Her take on some key archetypes gave me new insights. The oracle nature of the all animal theme also takes this deck to a dreamy place. You could work with this deck in so many ways.A high-key recommend from a person with way too many decks. If you're on the fence, do it.
