Works as described
For my purpose these jacks worked as I had hoped. Needed additional support (permanent) to fix a minor bouncy floor. Had around 18” clearance between ground and bottom of open beam floor joists. Used a 7”x7”x3.5” thick paver with a piece of 2x8 on top of paver as the bottom support. Set up the floor jack which wasn’t an issue as there was room to work. Placed 2ea 1/2” bolt fender washers in the top flange as one reviewer suggested. Tighten the jack with a 18” pipe wrench which made it very easy. I didn’t have any workmanship issues as other have mentioned. Had to back off the adjustment on the first one install due to lifting the floor too high. Will be ordering more to do another area of the floor

Magic Jack!
This pair of Jack worked magic and fixed my bouncing floor in 10 minutes. This is a strong Jack to be used as a secondary jack for high load areas. I intend to order a few more and put them below the floor where referigerator is installed. Very easy to setup. Instructions are included in package however not needed, as it is self explanatory once you take a look at the contents in the package.

Could be better, but can be made to work well.
These floor jacks can carry a full 18,000 lb load as long as they are not extended past 15 inches high. You can get another 3" but they will not carry full weight. Might be ok for lifting a sagging floor, but you need the full capacity if there is a wall above your lifting point. The comments about the flimsy base plates are correct. At anything like full load, the plate into which the screw fits collapses until it touches the surface it is lifting. This can be easily stopped by placing 2 each 1/2 in. washers in the dimple so that they carry the weight instead of the plate. When the load compresses the plate, the washers hit first. If the washers dig into the beam a bit, then the load spreads out to the rest of the plate. Works fine, and requires no machining. The fact that the parts are not welded together does make it hard to assemble this jack in tight spaces. I found that I could hold things together with masking tape long enough to get everything in place. Once there is even a slight load, everything stays where it belongs just fine. Be sure to wipe off the screw and nut and make sure the threads run smoothly before you try to use this jack. There was dirt and metal filings on mine that tended to jam the screw. Be sure the tip of the screw which carries the load is clean and smooth. I had to remove some burrs and dirt to get a smooth bearing surface. After everything is clean and turning smoothly, grease the threads and the bearing surface. Otherwise it will be very hard to lift anything close to the rated load. So, a little more care at the factory, and a proper top plate, and this would be an excellent product. It could be further improved by providing a second set of flats for the wrench at 90 degrees to the first set. With only one set, in tight places, you have to use a small pipe wrench to turn the jack screw.

Exactly what I needed
I used these floor jacks to add support from the basement to the floor joists area where my turntable setup sits (directly above). With the added support, the floor area stopped being so "bouncy" when I walk up to the turntable to change records (which sometimes can cause the records to skip). I've seen comments that the included metal plates are not thick enough. For my use, they were more than strong enough since I just needed to add support to the floor joists. The floor jacks were easy to use. The screw mechanism worked smoothly and I was able to make fine adjustments to the support amount. I'm glad that I found these at a reasonable price. See pics of the simple project (The studs are perfectly straight! - The cellphone camera lens distortion created the "bent" effect).

make sure you line everything up
Used a pair of these and some 4x4's to support my roof when I removed a supporting wall. Worked great and very sturdy but you need to get everything absolutely straight before you start cranking them up. I braced mine on a short piece of 4x4 then make sure all the thrust surfaces on the jack are greased and are flat and use a level to make sure the 4x4 vertical support to the roof beam is absolutely vertical in both planes. One everything was lined up a pair of these held up a 6ft section of roof when i removed the wall - worked great

Good economical support jack.
These are simple and easy to use. You really should use a bottle Jack to get the beam where you want and then slide this in for support. It would take a lot of effort to keep turning the screw with a wrench if you had to lift much. The tube can be cut to make them shorter if needed or buy a longer piece of tubing if you want. They are in 4 pieces. I would tack weld them together or even silicone or JB weld them together if your working in a crawl space. You don't want to try and haul and keep track of that many parts while doing a ninja crawl shimmy and dodging camel crickets. 2 end plates, screw that sets on tube and tube itself. Some jacks come with 2 tubes that slide in and out for size adjustment. This one is a single tube.

Good quality, poor design
The materials are good quality, but the design is a bad idea. It comes in four separate parts that do not connect in any way other than being held together by the pressure of the item you are trying to support. Impossible to use if not perfectly aligned perpendicularly to both the ground and the supported object. If you are lucky and it is aligned perfectly it will still take at least four hands to hold everything in place when you try to use it. I went ahead and welded everything together in order for it to work better. As an added safety precaution I painted the last 3/4" of threads to indicate the support jack was extended to the max. Otherwise you could keep rotating the jack higher until it comes apart (unsafe). This would work better if there was a stop added to the end of the threads which I could have welded on had I though about it before welding the rest of the jack together. Do I recommend, yes. The prices is good, the materials are sturdy, but you have to be willing to weld it together if you want to use it safely.
