Sturdy and well thought out
I am a teacher and I bought this book holder stand for my teacher's manuals, one manual weighs 7.5 lbs. and is extra-large in size containing 1100 pages. This book holder, as you can see in the first and second pictures, holds pages flat and sturdy; many pages at a time or few pages at a time with no slippage of the book. This is important to me because no matter what I would do in class the pages would slip, the book fall, or be awkward to view from a standing position. The fourth picture is of a manual that is taller than the first with 300 pages and works well. It not only holds books but also single sheets nicely, as seen in pictures 5 and 6. Lastly, the portability; this book holder weighs 1.92 lbs, and the book rest bar is 1 3/4" deep. The two arms that hold the pages are very strong and unobtrusive when reading as well as easy to move. The bar rest is a little tricky to fold. If you look at the bottom right and left corners there is a black angle piece that houses two screws. It appears to only be the screws, but look closer and you will see a small track that houses a peg. The peg moves along the slot stiffly and this allows the bar to fold. The back has a piece that has many tracks for viewing at different angles. This item fits into my briefcase. I have used this at home for lesson planning which made my work easier to view. I have used this product for about a week so I cannot speak to its durability. It appears to be built well with two areas that are made of plastic, the piece that holds the screws and pegs, and the back piece to adust for viewing angles, the main piece is wood.I highly recommend this product. I believe it is worth the money, $20.00, and will last a long time. I don't think you can go wrong with this product. It has been a great help to me.

LOVE! Right out of the box!
Right out of the box and I am in love with this bookstand! This stand is perfect in form and function, something you don't see a lot of anymore. A great deal of engineering went into designing this item. So let's look at it step by step ...1. - It packs nice and flat. I would not have any problem slipping this into my briefcase or into a desk drawer for that matter. The bottom bookrest takes a bit to learn to use correctly, but once you see what they were going for, you see how clever and simple the design is ... and it works flawlessly.2. - The "legs" in back. Again, form and function come togetheer. There is a bottom stand that sits on the surface you prop the book up on that is equipped with rubber feet to keep everything in place. That part is spring loaded, which comes in handy to keep everything together when not in use. Then there is the brace stat swings down from the top. It locks securely into the rack on the legs. The spring in the legs keeps the brace secured into the rack so you can lift the stand with a book or not, up and move it around without everything coming apart. Another PLUS+ in my book.3. - The page holders on the front. Well thought out and executed design. There is a little detent on the front that keeps them out of the way and secure when not in use. Plus there is just enough tension to keep things secure, even on what I think would be the most windy days. I would even trust my tablet to be held tight without messing up the screen with the page holders.4. - Finally, the finish of the wood surface. What some people might see is rough, I see as an added bonus. The wood is not sanded and polished to a reflective shine. Te surface still shows the grain and texture of the wood and because of that, I feel, grips the cover better than something slick and shiny. So the question would be ... would I buy it again or reccomend it to others? YES!!!! In fact I am thinking about buying another so my wife doesn't steal this one. ;)BestBookStand Nice Production INP-101-O Book Stand (Bookstand / Bookstands / Holder / Cookbook / Music)

Happy with this purchase!
This bood stand has already proved its worth. I nerded out and took it to the library because it is so useful that I don't even care how ridiculous it looks to set it up. It has alleviated my neck pain and gives me more desk space to work. I generally keep the big books on this and two smaller reference books on either side and my laptop in front. It is very convenient to see all of them at once while I am studying. I am a grad student in a medical program that requires the use of very large textbooks that I "lift with my legs" so that I do not hurt my back. This stand hold them in, which was pretty surprising to me even though it seems to be constructed very well. When I am reading in the very beginning or end of the book, one of the springed holders struggles to get on top of the page, but it does hold a large amount before it has this problem and I really don't think there is a realistic solution to this (other than making a friend hold the page down manually). They are perfectly tightened to be useable without forcing them, and hold heavy textbooks in place. The large books will even stay without their use, which I sometimes do if I'm flipping back and forth constantly to find info. I love the many different angles that I can adjust it to and the back piece feels sturdy enough to last under the weight of my books. Even though it seems well made, it is relatively lightweight and doesn't add much to my backpack, especially when compared to my textbooks. It was definitely worth the money and I would recommend it to any student who has to do a lot of reading, especially if from multiple books at once, or if hunching over a book flat on your desk is getting painful.
