Unfortunately, this was an experiment to see if I could fix a tv where the IR Receiver wasn't working. This will not fix a broken IR receiver. As of right now, I have no use for this item. I'm sure at some point I may. I'll just hang onto it until there is a need for it. It is small and easy to store- it has a lot of wires.

I wanted to organize all my Media Devices into a single cabinet. I found the "WenkeDigi IR Infrared Repeater System" really works well! It was simple to setup and worked the first time. I 3D printed a holder for the IR receiver to sit cleanly on top of my television. Also - I found that if you mount the cabinet transmitters on a small magnet, then on a a metal strip - it is easy to adjust the position. The cabinet transmitter does not have to be directly in front of the IR device. I found that if I mount the transmitter just above the IR device - the IR signal bounces around the cabinet and works just fine to control the device. I also found the "WenkeDigi IR Infrared Repeater System" works just fine with "Learned IR Devices". FYI - To complete my new media setup - I bought a "Universal Remote Control" with a scroll screen to combine all IR remotes into one! This worked exactly as it should. I spliced the receiver at the tv and the base unit in my closet with 40 foot of cat 5 between. I'm sure I could have put the whole unit behind the tv and spliced the emitter in the closet as well. Works perfectly. A bright blue light indicates when there is an ir signal at detected at the receiver and the base unit.

I will say that depending on where the sensor is on each devices, the 4 emitters that come with this purchase might not be enough.

I have all my electronics in a different room than my TV setup. This works perfectly to send the signal to those devices and control them.
